The annual Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival continues three days of music, art, theater, dance and food in Logan Square. Events run from 11am-10pm today on Milwaukee Ave. between California and Kimball.
The sixth annual Roscoe Village Burger Fest shuts down the intersection of Damen and Belmont today and Sunday. From 11am to 10pm, enjoy hamburgers from 11 area restaurants, plus music and a variety of vendors. $6 suggested donation.

The Old Town School of Folk Music and Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce present Square Roots, a new festival of music and craft beer, running Friday through Sunday, July 20-22, on Lincoln Avenue from Montrose to Wilson. Watch a variety of music genres live on multiple stages, sample craft beers from regional brewers, and enjoy food from local restaurants. Suggested donation $10, $5 for seniors and children under 12. The Peanut Gallery, 1000 N. California Ave., hosts its annual fundraiser today from 1pm to 9pm. In the "Broken Peanut Casino," visitors will use art as currency. A $5 donation will get you either art or the supplies to make some; use that art to bet in blackjack, cee-lo and other games. There will also be a silent auction for art, music, gift certificates and more.
Join the chefs at Publican Quality Meats, 825 W. Fulton Market, today from 3pm to 8pm for a parking lot barbecue. They'll provide the meats (natch), sides, dessert and cocktails--and even seafood and veg alternatives. Chef Michael Schreader of Urban Union will join PQM at the grill.
Queer Fest America presents a PG-13 multimedia showcase to benefit El Rescate Independent Transitional Living for Homeless and HIV/AIDS Youth at Reggie's Rock Club, 2109 S. State St., tonight from 4 to 9pm. LGBTQ musician/comedian Jonny McGovern, womb brothers Elephant, Matt Ryanz, When Flying Feels Like Falling, Polymer Twins, Spherical Banana, Moist Guitars and more perform; full lineup here. International LGBTQ activist Ziggy 2000 hosts. Tickets are $15 online, $25 at the door. All ages.
