You can choose the Salt, Pepper or the Whole Enchilada (both) routes, but it's guaranteed you will eat well at the Taste of Andersonville Dinner Crawl, which kicks off at 4pm at the Swedish History Museum, 5211 N. Clark. You'll get a "passport" which allows you eats at many of the neighborhood's best places, among them M. Henry, Kopi, Lady Gregory's, Premise, Vincent and Marigold. Tickets $25 for one route; $40 for both (price goes to $30 and $50 on day of event). Sponsored by the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce.
The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., hosts Veggie Bingo from 5:30 to 8pm on Wednesdays. Co-sponsored by NeighborSpace, Hideout Veggie Bingo features a grand prize of fresh produce from Irv and Shelly's Fresh Picks, plus many more prizes donated by various local organizations and individuals. There are also free hot dogs donated by Hot Doug's! Bingo cards are $2 each, or three for $5; all proceeds benefit local gardens.
The DuSable Museum of African-American History, 740 E. 56th Pl., presents "A Tribute to Miles Davis," tonight from 5:30pm-8:30pm. This free, outdoors concert, part of the museum's "The Sounds of History" jazz concert series, will honor the legendary jazz trumpeter and will feature performances by Chicago's Corey Wilkes and The Bobby Irving Quintet. Tonight at 7:30pm, the Northwest Chicago Film Society screens Yasujiro Ozu's A Hen in the Wind at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave. Their classic film series continues every Wednesday. Admission is $5.
