The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., hosts Veggie Bingo from 5:30 to 8pm on Wednesdays. Co-sponsored by NeighborSpace, Hideout Veggie Bingo features a grand prize of fresh produce from Irv and Shelly's Fresh Picks, plus many more prizes donated by various local organizations and individuals. There are also free hot dogs donated by Hot Doug's! Bingo cards are $2 each, or three for $5; all proceeds benefit local gardens.
Featuring lifestyle trends for fashion, home, and entertaining in the bridal market, this show features host and bow-tie expert Ryan Beshel leading guests through interactive vignettes. Expect fashion, food, and sweet cocktails to please even the most finicky of brides. 521 N Rush St., 6-8pm. Tickets $15 and available here.
ChicagoQuest Charter School 6th and 7th graders read from an anthology that is the culmination of several weeks of Open Books' program "ReadthenWrite." The voices of youth aren't showcased in these exciting, innovative ways often enough so be a part of it and spread the energy. Tonight 6-7:30pm in the Open Books Bookstore at 213 W. Institute Place; Free and open to the public.
Tonight at 7:30pm, the Northwest Chicago Film Society screens Arthur Penn's The Chase at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave. Their classic film series continues every Wednesday. Admission is $5.
