As part of the Architecture Foundation's Open House Chicago, the Poetry Foundation will open it's doors and offer a sneak-peak at the space as well as a behind-the-scenes view of the making of Poetry magazine, celebrating 100 years in 2012. Today and tomorrow from 9am-5pm at the Poetry Foundation, 61 W. Superior. Free.
Learn more about how kefir became a popular grocery item this afternoon at Lifeway Foods (6101 W Gross Point, Niles) from 2-4pm. You'll tour the facility, sample their wares and talk with CEO Julie Smolyansky. Tour offered as part of Chicago Ideas Week; admission $15.
As part of Chicago Ideas Week, Floriole chef Sandra Holl opens her doors to demonstrate breadmaking at her shop (1220 W Webster) tonight from 6:30-8:30pm. You'll get some to snack on, of course. Admission $15; kids age 10-16 must participate with an adult.
Songstress and Pianist Norah Jones plays at the Chicago Theatre, 175 N. State St., tonight with special guests Corey Chisel & the Wandering Sons. Jones will appear with a full band, performing songs off of her new album Little Broken Hearts. Show starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are $48-65. All ages.
