The Tuesday Funk reading series returns to upstairs bar at Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St., tonight. It's the "Not Your Parents' Valentine's Day" edition, with readings by Mary Pat Bohan, John Everson, Gina Frangello, Hanna Martine, and Patricia Ann McNair. Sara Ross Witt and William Shunn host. Chicago musician and composer Daniel Knox begins a month-long residency at The Hideout tonight at 9pm. Over the course of four weeks, Knox will perform each album from a trilogy that includes his 2007 debut Disaster, 2011's Evryman for Himself, and the upcoming Chasescene. Tickets are $5. The Hideout is located at 1354 W. Wabansia Ave.
