The Chicago Nerd Social Club presents their monthly sci fi & fantasy book club this evening at Filter (1373-75 N Milwaukee) tonight from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. The book for discussion this evening is William Goldman's The Princess Bride. Full details of the event available at the Chicago Nerds Website.
Gojira, Devin Townsend Project and The Atlas Moth play House of Blues, 329 N. Dearborn St., tonight. Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door. Doors open at 7pm, show starts are 8pm. 17+
The Chicago Cinema Society presents Sound City, a documentary by Dave Grohl about the legendary LA recording studio by the same name, at the Patio Theater, 6008 W. Irving Park Rd., Feb. 8, 9 and 11. Tickets to each screening are $7. Tonight's showing is at 7:30pm.
The Third Coast Audio Festival and Victory Gardens Theater team up tonight at 7:30pm for Identity: Real and Imagined an evening of audio stories inspired by Anupama Chandrasekhar's play Disconnect, now playing at Victory Gardens, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door, and free if you have tickets to the play (which, to be clear, is not being performed with this event.)
