Activist Authors Read @ No Nation Gallery

Art and activism converge in a reading by authors Dan P. Moore and Becky Dernbach at 2pm on March 10, at No Nation Gallery (formerly known as Happy Dog Gallery). With his Graphic Novel, Mark Twain Was Right, Moore tells of his experience as a high schooler living through the Cincinnati Riots, and Dernbach lends accessibility to the story of America's housing crisis with her picture book, Fannie and Freddie. Chicago Underground Film Festival

The Chicago Underground Film Festival runs March 6 through today at the Logan Theatre, 2646 N. Milwaukee Ave. Today's screenings include Vigilante Vigilante: The Battle for Expression, preceded by Road Show, at 2pm; a short film retrospective at 3pm; a collection of short films at 6pm; All the Memory in the World, preceded by The Broken Altar, at 7pm; and See You Next Tuesday, preceded by Chubby Bunny, at 8pm. Tickets for each program are $7 online or at the door, or get a festival pass for $60.

Winning Works: Choreographers of Color 2013 @ Harris Theater

The Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph, hosts the Joffrey Academy of Dance and "Winning Works: Choreographers of Color 2013," today at 4pm. This one-time only performance features world premieres from William McClellan, Ma Cong, and Jeremy McQueen; also, Alexei Kremnev, Joffrey Academy Artistic Director, will feature the world premiere of "Carnival of the Animals." That's All She Wrote @ Swim Cafe

That's All She Wrote, a live lit show held at Swim Cafe @ 1357 W. Chicago Avenue in Noble Square, will be back on Sunday, March 10 at 8:00 PM (doors at 7:30).
