Etsy is throwing a worldwide Craft Party today, and the Chicago party is happening at Mignonette Bridal (1747 W. Belmont) from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The beneficiary of all proceeds from the party will be the Human Society of the US Pets For Life program. A certified therapy dog will be in attendance, in case you want to shake his paw. Chicago's Half Acre and Ft. Collins, CO's New Belgium are collaborating on a beer this weekend, and to celebrate they're throwing a beer dinner at Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St., tonight at 7pm. The five-course meal will be paired with the two breweries beers (including a blend of Daisy Cutter and Biere de Mars). Tickets are $85 per person, which includes tax and tip. 21+
Characterized, Cut & Paste's latest design competition, fills the Logan Square Auditorium, 2539 N. Kedzie Ave., tonight. Come watch four teams come up with character-based creations through a variety of design methods; Jim Coudal, Mig Reyes, Ross Zeitz and Shawn Smith judge. Tickets are $7.50 in advance, $10 at the door. Doors open at 7:30pm.
