An Evening for Freedom @ Crimson Lounge
Heartland Alliance's Northern Tier Anti-Trafficking Consortium(NTAC) is hosting An Evening for Freedom to benefit survivors of human trafficking. The event will take place at Crimson Lounge, inside Hotel Sax, located at 333 N Dearborn from 6pm to 9pm. Come enjoy hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, a unique silent auction, and live jazz entertainment. NTAC will also be honoring Google Inc. with the 2013 Bridge to Freedom Award at tonight's event. Tickets are $35 in advance, $45 at the door. Student tickets available for $20 (student ID required at the door).

Lonely Robot Fiction Anthology Series
Everyone loves to hear a good story, especially a short one that gets right to the point. Everyone loves a robot, especially ones who are programed for good and not evil. Here's your chance to hear 11 short stories about robots that involve terrifyingly ice-cold logic, acts of almost-human kindness, and even the everyday grind of being an artificial person. City Lit Books at 2523 North Kedzie will host its first "Lonely Robot Fiction Anthology Series," featuring local writers and story editor Eric Rampson.
