Ravenswood Art Walk & Detour

The Ravenswood Art Walk runs Saturday and today along the Ravenswood Avenue corridor from Irving Park to Lawrence. Tour artists' studios, galleries, shops and industrial businesses along the route, and enjoy live music on the main stage at Ravenswood and Wilson. The festival is open from 11am to 6pm today. Free.

In addition to the Art Walk, there's also Detour, a craft beer garden and food truck court, open from noon to 7pm today at Ravenswood and Berteau.

West Town Art Walk

The West Town Art Walk runs Friday through today. Check out works by local artists in shops and galleries along Chicago Avenue from Milwaukee to Western -- PDF map here. The walk runs from 11am to 5pm today. Free.

Applefest @ Martyrs'

Martyrs', 3855 N. Lincoln Ave., hosts Applefest, a day of family-friendly food, music and fun, today from noon to 6pm. There'll be plenty of apples, plus a pig roast, Virtue cider for the adults, vendors and an apple pie baking competition ($5 entry fee; drop the pie off by 3pm). $5 suggested donation. Proceeds benefit Bell School.

St. Matthias Presents: Friends of the Grape

Still ale-ing from Friends of the Craft a few nights ago at the St. Matthias school hall (4910 North Claremont Avenue)? Well, there's no better way to cure a little hangover than with a little wine at Friends of the Grape. For just $50 at the door ($45 pre-sale) you can turn a donation into fine wines, just as Jesus did with water, from local Lincoln Square restaurants, while bidding on golf packages and other quality items in their silent auction.

Openings @ Hyde Park Art Center

The Hyde Park Art Center, 5020 S. Cornell Ave., hosts an opening reception from 3 to 5pm today for its latest exhibitions: A Study in Midwest Appropriation, curated by Michelle Grabner; Light and the Unseen curated by Julie Rudder; Amanda Gentry: Expanding; and Oli Watt: Here comes a regular. Admission is free.

Oddisee @ Double Door

Hip hop emcee/producer, Oddisee, returns to Chicago for the first time in four years tonight to celebrate the release of two new albums. The Double Door (1572 N Milwaukee Ave) lineup also includes Chicago favorites Sidewalk Chalk, Radius, Dave Mata and Eddie Franks. Tickets are $12. 21 and up.
