The DuSable Museum, 740 E. 56th Pl. presents a pre-screening of The Trials of Muhammad Ali, today at 6:30pm. The documentary, produced by Academy Award winner Leon Gast, features interviews and commentary by family members, friends, and journalists, who share stories about the revered legendary boxer's personal, professional and political life. More than 30 storytellers have come together for this three-week Festival of Storytelling at the Side Project Theatre (1439 W. Jarvis Ave.) First-time and experienced tellers will weave together stories of connecting, or not, with strangers. This week's headlining teller is Amy Sumpter. The festival runs Sundays through Wednesdays through November 6. Show begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15.
Doc Films, presents a special airing of Orson Welles' War of the Worlds radio play in honor of the 75th anniversary of its 1938 broadcast, tonight at 11pm. The airing will be accompanied by a slide show and introduction by Neil Verma, author of Theater of the Mind: Imagination, Aesthetics, and American Radio Drama. Admission is $5; copies of the book will be available for purchase.
