Half Acre Beer Co. celebrates the first anniversary of its tap room, 4257 N. Lincoln Ave., tonight from 6pm to close. Enjoy a cash bar featuring tappings of a variety of special beers, plus food samples from The Publican, West Loop Salumi and Bang Bang Pie Shop. The Yoko Oyeahs perform, and the brewery will be open for visitation. No cover, 21+.
Thomas Dolby, best known for his novelty hit "She Blinded Me With Science," brings a new film and live performance to the Mayne Stage, 1328 W. Morse Ave., tonight. The Invisible Lighthouse Live features live narration, live foley artist Blake Leyh and a musical soundtrack by Dolby. Tickets are $35. Doors open at 6:30pm, show is at 7:30pm. 18+
"Small batch" bourbon enthusiasts unite! Hub 51 plays host to this month's Woodford Reserve Dinner Series, which offers up a chef and mixologist to tell the story of Woodford's sources of flavor in the most unique and exclusive settings. General admission is $50 for the two-hour event.
The Guild Literary Complex takes over Vincent, 1475 W. Balmoral Ave., tonight at 7pm for TONIC, a party in celebration of the year's achievements. Enjoy gin punch, wine, soft drinks and light appetizers while you mingle with the literati. DJ Risa T. spins. Tickets are $25 for artists and arts administrators, $50 general admission.
More than 30 storytellers have come together for this three-week Festival of Storytelling at the Side Project Theatre (1439 W. Jarvis Ave.) First-time and experienced tellers will weave together stories of connecting, or not, with strangers. This week's headlining teller is Kim Morris. The festival runs Sundays through Wednesdays through November 6. Show begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15.
