The Feminine Mystique at 50

The Newberry Library, 60 W. Walton St., presents The Feminine Mystique at 50: Reflecting on the Book that Inspired, Angered, and Forever Changed America, a day-long seminar today from 9am to 4pm. The program is free.

Lost Girls Vintage Pop-up @ Inkling

Inkling, 2917½ N. Broadway, hosts a pop-up show with Lost Girls Vintage, a mobile vintage shop, tonight from 5 to 9pm.

Chicago Arts District 2nd Fridays

On the second Friday of every month, the 30-or-so galleries and creative spaces in the Chicago Arts District at Halsted and 18th streets open their doors to showcase art and artists from Chicago and the world. The opening receptions begin at 6pm and last officially until 10pm, letting viewers get up close with the art and artists for free. Maps are available at the information center at 1821 S. Halsted St.

Beer Hoptacular @ Lacuna Artist Studios

Do you like beer? Do your friends? What better way to spend an evening than to head to Lacuna Artist Studios (2150 S. Canalport Ave.) for this year's Beer Hoptacular. Over 150 craft brewers, along with home brewers, entertainment and food await you (and you get to vote for your favorite suds). Your $45 ticket ($85 for VIP) gets you a gets you a souvenir glass to fill to your heart's content with as many beers as you can handle. Please, take a taxi home. Tonight's sole session is at 6pm, and tomorrow's sessions start at 12:30pm and 6pm.

Allen Toussaint @ SPACE

New Orleans legend Allen Toussaint performs two shows, at 7:30pm and 9:30pm, tonight at SPACE, 1245 N. Chicago Ave. in Evanston. Tickets are $34-74 for the early show, $24-64 for the late one. Doors open an hour before each show.

Art, Wine and Entertainment @ DuSable Museum

The DuSable Museum, 740 E. 56th Pl., hosts "Art, Wine and Entertainment," tonight from 7pm-9pm. This "culinary and visual arts tour of the African Diaspora" will feature live visual art drawings, wine-tasting, music by Afrobeat artists and more. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Polish Film Festival in America

The Polish Film Festival in America runs Nov. 8-24. Tonight, Mam Na Imię Asia (My Name is Asia) and Czwarta Dzielnica (The Fourth Partition) screen at 7pm and Układ Zamnięty (The Closed Circuit) screens at 9pm, all at Facets Cinematheque, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave. The directors of all three films and actress Maria Mamona, star of Układ Zamnięty, will be present. Tickets for documentaries are $10, features are $14, and student and senior discounts are available. Festival passes are available for $75, with Gold passes that also include opening and closing night events going for $150.

Reeling Film Festival

The 31st Reeling LGBT Film Festival runs Nov. 7-14, screening at multiple venues throughout the city. See the schedule for details. Tickets for individual screenings range from $9 to $12. Five- and 10-film packs, full festival passes and VIP passes are also available.

Trombone Shorty @ the Vic

Trombone Shorty and his New Orleans brass band play two nights at the Vic Theatre, 3145 N. Sheffield Ave., tonight and Saturday. Marrow opens tonight's show. Tickets are $26. Doors open at 8pm. 18+

Wooden Shjips @ Empty Bottle

Wooden Shjips celebrate the release of their latest album, Back to Land, at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave., tonight, with CAVE and Rabble Rabble opening. Tickets are $14 in advance or at the door. Doors open at 9:30pm. 21+
