Chicago's Perfect 10 -- 10 Mile & 10K Run

Just because the marathon is long gone doesn't mean you can't start training for next year's 26.2 jaunt. You can do so with either a 10-mile or 10K run that starts and finishes on Navy Pier in Chicago's Perfect 10. It's the perfect excuse to get into shape before the holidays while raising money for your favorite charity.

JASC Holiday Delight

The Japanese-American Service Committee, 4427 N. Clark St., hosts its annual Holiday Delight from 10am to 4pm today. Get your holiday shopping out of the way early with a variety of vendors, and pick up traditional sweets and savories to eat there or take home. Musicians Tsukasa Taiko and Fujima Ryu perform. Admission is free.

Handmade Market @ Empty Bottle

The Empty Bottle hosts the monthly installment of Handmade Market, a craft show featuring local makers of all kinds. Expect to see handmade jewelry, clothing, bags, paper crafts, and much more. Admission is free, and the event runs from noon to 4pm. Empty Bottle: 1035 N. Western. (773) 276-3600.

Reeling Film Festival

The 31st annual Reeling LGBT Film Festival runs Nov. 7-14, screening at multiple venues throughout the city. See the schedule for details. Tickets for individual screenings range from $9 to $12. Five- and 10-film packs, full festival passes and VIP passes are also available.

Beer Hoptacular @ Lacuna Artist Studios

Do you like beer? Do your friends? What better way to spend a day than to head to Lacuna Artist Studios (2150 S. Canalport Ave.) for this year's Beer Hoptacular. Over 150 craft brewers, along with home brewers, entertainment and food await you (and you get to vote for your favorite suds). Your $45 ticket ($85 for VIP) which gets you a gets you a souvenir glass to fill to your heart's content with as many beers as you can handle. Please, take a taxi home. Sessions begin at 12:30pm and 6pm.

Polish Film Festival in America

The Polish Film Festival in America runs Nov. 8-24. Tonight's opening night gala featuring Walesa. Czlowiek z nadziei (Walesa, Man of Hope) at Muvico Rosemont 18, 9701 Bryn Mawr Ave. in Rosemont, is sold out, but there's an opening night reception at the Gallery Theatre, 1112 N. Milwaukee Ave., at 9:30pm, featuring Violeta Rendon the Rio Bamba Band.


Tonight's films are Lato w Mieście (Summer in the City) at 5:30pm, Nieulotne (Lasting) at 7:15pm and Sęp(The Vulture) at 9pm all at Facets Cinematheque, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave. Tickets are $10 for documentaries, $14 for feature films, with student and senior discounts available. Festival passes are available for $75, with Gold passes that also include opening and closing night events going for $150.

25th Annual Rock for Kids Rock and Roll Auction @ Park West

Come to Park West (322 W. Armitage) tonight for the 25th Annual Rock for Kids Rock n Roll Auction. Rock for Kids provides music education for at-risk youth in the Chicago Public Schools. Tickets to tonight's event are $50 (before 11/4) or $75 at door. Admission includes: reception, featuring passed food from Whole Foods Market and complimentary drinks from Crown Imports, the live and silent auction, including the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind experience packages and unique signed memorabilia, Rock For Kids student performance, Giving Tree (gift certificate and autographed memorabilia grab), and late night eats from Paramount Events Catering. You're Being Ridiculous is a group of real people telling real funny stories about their lives with a theme as their guide. With three shows this month, there's sure to be a date that matches your calendar. Come out tonight to hear stories on the theme "heroes." Stories start at 7:30pm at Mary's Attic, 5400 N. Trombone Shorty @ the Vic

Trombone Shorty and his New Orleans brass band play two nights at the Vic Theatre, 3145 N. Sheffield Ave., Friday and tonight. Blah Blah Blah opens tonight's show. Tickets are $26. Doors open at 8pm. 18+

The Dickies @ Reggies

Original '77 punkers The Dickies headline a night of punk rock at Reggies, 2105 S. State St. They're joined by Modern Day Rippers, Hot Lips Messiah, Brain Vacation and Moist Guitars. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the doors, which open at 8:30pm. 17+

The Point Magazine Release

The Point celebrates the release of its seventh issue with a party tonight at the Bridgeport Art Center, 1200 W. 35th St., from 8:30pm to 2am. Enjoy live music and DJs, drinks and appetizers, and meet readers and staff. Free for subscribers, $10 at the door with a copy of the new issue.

This Must Be the Band @ The Riv

This Must Be the Band recreates the Talking Heads' famous Stop Making Sense concert production at the Riv, 4647 N. Racine Ave., tonight at 8:30pm. Tickets are $25.

My Gold Mask @ Empty Bottle
