Donut Fest

Donuts are the new cupcake, or so Becca Skoch and Alyssa Erickson want you to think. The first (and hopefully not last) Donut Fest will take place today at The Chop Shop's 1st Ward (2033 W. North Avenue) from 8am to 9am for VIP ticket holders and 9am to 1pm for everyone else. Tickets are $45 for VIP and $30 for general admission (with a Paypal surchage tacked on). There are 15 donut makers (expect a quarter donut from each maker) and coffee. This is a fundraiser for Un86'd, a nonprofit that provides monetary aid to restaurant professionals in need.

Game Day @ Co-Prosperity Sphere

The Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St., hosts a game day today from 11am till late. Play RPG and story games, and meet local game designers. Admission is $5.

Rockin' Record Bazaar & Beer Blowout @ GMan Tavern

GMan Tavern, 3740 N. Clark St., hosts the Uncle Jasper's Rockin' Record Bazaar and Beer Blowout today from 4pm to 10pm. Pick up new releases and catalog items from a host of local labels, including Bloodshot Records, HoZac Records, Red Scare Industries, Underground Communique Records, Hewhocorrupts Inc., Criminal IQ Records and more, while enjoying local beer on tap. Making Out With Wes Perry & Friends @ Hideout

Wes Perry hosts Making Out With Wes Perry And Friends tonight at 8pm at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave. The show blends standup, improv, storytelling, performance art and more, and this time features the talents of Adam Cohen-Leadhølm, Suzanne Osman and Nicholas Liebman. $7 in advance or at the door, which opens at 7pm. 21+

Beck's Song Reader @ Old Town School

Beck released Song Reader, an album of sheet music, in 2012; tonight at 7pm at the Old Town School of Folk Music, 4545 N. Lincoln Ave., Old Town School faculty and students will perform their interpretation live. Tickets are $12, $11 for members.

Kinda Good @ Quenchers

Kinda Good, the Comanches and the Symposium play Quenchers, 2401 N. Western Ave., tonight at 8pm. $5 in advance or at the door. 21+
