Soup and Bread @ The Hideout
Tonight kicks off the new season of this weekly wintertime soup-eating party at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., which benefits a local food-related charity. Volunteer cooks make the soup; you show up between 5:30 and 8pm to eat, enjoy and kick in a few bucks for the cause. Kids welcome with parents.
The God, Sex & Death Variety Hour @ Schubas
The God, Sex & Death Variety Hour returns tonight to the upstairs bar at Schubas, 3159 N. Southport Ave. This month's show features comedian Tyler Snodgrass talking about his high school Christian metal band, an interview with Melissa Richelle on virginity, and a story by Robert O'Connor about death. Angela Vela, Daniel Shapiro, Lily Be and Danny Black host. Doors open at 7:15pm, show's at 8pm. Free, 21+
