Gapers Block is proud to offer our own text ad service. Our text ads provide an excellent value for advertisers while maximizing exposure for their message.
Text ads are ideal for promoting short-run events, products, services and other things. For just $35 a week — that's $5 a day! — your text ad will appear at the top of every page on the site, just above the masthead. No more than five ads run at a time, further guaranteeing the visibility of your message. Our text ads tend to outperform the industry average, with click-through rates (CTR) of 0.8% to 1.5% not uncommon (as compared to 0.5% CTR industry average).
How It Works
Only five slots are available per week. We do this to maximize exposure for each advertiser. Ads may be bought in one-week blocks, with a four week maximum. Refer to the calendar below to see if weeks have already been filled before ordering; we are happy to take advance orders.
A few rules: Ads must be no longer than 100 characters, including spaces. We will not approve ads that are not safe for work — no profanity, please. Nor will we approve ads for anything illegal in the United States — foie gras is OK since it's only banned in Chicago, but sell your pot somewhere else, dude. We reserve the right or reject any ad, but we'll probably tell you why.
We use Paypal for processing (an account is not required) — your payment is charged but the ad will not go live until we review it for appropriate content and language and to make sure there is no scheduling conflict. Once approved, ads will go live for the period you have chosen (again, no more than four weeks). Please be explicit in your order about what that date should be.
In the event that the calendar has not been updated promptly enough to reflect current availability, you will be refunded or we will offer you the next available slot if you wish.
