Jack Conaty's Bio Will Be Immortalized Here When WFLD Yanks It

Since WFLD-TV (Fox Chicago) has decided to not renew Jack Conaty's contract, they'll most likely be deleting his bio from their site. So I've posted it here. I think it's important to preserve it, especially since they said, "We appreciate all of Jack's hard work and dedication during his time with Fox Chicago." So much so, they've shown him the door.

Jack Conaty

Depending on the time of the year, the Windy City could either describe a town notorious for gusty currents or a city surrounded in a whirlwind of politics. FOX Chicago News reporter Jack Conaty knows how to weather both kinds of storms.

Jack arrived in Chicago in July 1987 to join FOX Chicago as a reporter, focusing on political arenas and issues -- local, national and international in scope. While he covers a broad range of story assignments, Jack is the political specialist for FOX Chicago News.

Jack's career began on the East Coast where he lived the majority of this life. Upon graduation from Providence College in Rhode Island, he taught English for six years in New Haven, Connecticut before returning to pursue a master's degree from the University of Missouri's School of Journalism.

WTVT-TV in Tampa was where Jack secured his first television reporter job, covering the federal courts. This led him to WNET/NJP-TV in New Jersey where, for two years, he reported and was a weekend anchor. Soon he headed to Washington, D.C., and took a job with WJLA-TV, an ABC affiliate, as a reporter and national correspondent. His six years of experience at WJLA-TV yielded an Associate Press award and an United Press International award for excellence in reporting. Jack then moved to WTTG, the FOX Television station in Washington, D.C., where he remained for 1986 to 1987. During this time, he was honored with a prestigious Emmy Award and garnered four additional Emmy Award nominations.

Jack Conaty is a one of a kind reporter. Jack is the reason I watched Fox News. We need his style of reporting and interviewing. He made politicians squirm in their seats! It was awesome to watch. God Bless you Jack!!
