Win Free Season Passes to the Chicago Opera Theater
The Chicago Opera Theater's second annual YouTube contest gives fans a chance to sing for their opera tickets, provided they can drum-up a popular video reenacting this season's arias.
The theme of this year's submissions is to explain "How do YOU make opera less ordinary?" by interpreting one of the three 2010 Spring season operas: Rossini's "Moses in Egypt," Cavalli's "Jason" (Giasone) or Heggie's "Three Decembers." For synopsis and production info, click on the operas' accompanied link.
COT started the ball rolling by uploading mini examples of each opera (see above) when the contest officially started on March 1st. Contestants have until April 1st to submit their own entries and have until April 9th to become popular -so, the sooner the submission, the better the chance of gaining popularity. The details are explained on their site. The top three videos with the most "favorite" votes, wins the submitter two season passes to see the real operas performed at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park this Spring.
And this year, there are more chances to win: All runner-up video entries will grant the contestant two passes to the final dress rehearsal of their choice -Frankly, it's almost impossible to lose this contest.
