Comedians With A Heart: A Benefit
Best known for her work with the Wood Sugars and her podcast Dates with Ever, as well as hosting The Starving Artist Project, Ever Mainard is a rising star of Chicago comedy. Her mother, Mary Mainard, has fallen ill and cannot afford the medical care she requires, so Chicago comics, producers, performers and fans have joined forces in an effort to help raise money and lend support.
Mary has been in and out of the hospital recently, and doctors are unable to diagnose the specific cause of her ailments; she is in constant pain and losing weight rapidly. Because she is on Medicaid, Mary is not guaranteed medical attention and cannot afford the multiple diagnostic tests she has had to endure, plus an anti-immune specialist.
Co-produced by Wood Sugars and The Starving Artist Project, Comedians With A Heart will be held on June 6th at the Beat Kitchen (2100 W. Belmont), home of Chicago Underground Comedy. Scheduled to perform are comedians Beth Stelling (Entertaining Julia, TBS Just For Laughs Festival), Ryan Walker, Lisa Laureta, Mike Lebovitz, Cameron Esposito, Tiffany Puterbaugh (Entertaining Julia) and Bess McGeorge, with music by Chris Condren. The show will be hosted by Nancy Fast.
Admission is $10 and includes a raffle ticket. Doors are at 8pm and all proceeds from the show will go towards Mary Mainard's medical expenses.
