Starball: A Dreamy Musical Astronomy Show
It's all about meteors and music and asteroids and acting in Starball: A Dreamy Musical Astronomy Show, the critically acclaimed theatrical production whose mission is to heighten audiences' understanding--and interest--in the sky above. Presented by the Adler Planetarium and Ethereal Mutt Limited, the show, which is making its return to Chicago, is put on by performance artists and writers who are not only experienced in the theater but who also have backgrounds in science.
Written and performed by Dan Dennis and John Kaufmann and directed
by Rachel Katz Carey, Starball will be held in the museum's Grainger Sky Theater and is part of the "Adler After Dark" series; it boasts an action-packed, 'extraterrestrial' experience featuring a cosmic combination of theater music, improv and of course, astronomy. In addition, attendees can enjoy full access to the museum, attend unlimited space shows and see the stars through the Doane Observatory telescope, the largest of its kind in the Midwest.
Catch the one-night only performance Starball: A Dreamy Musical Astronomy Show at the Adler Planetarium, 1300 S. Lake Shore Dr., Thursday, Apr. 19; show times are at 7:30pm and 9:30pm. Advance tickets are $9-$12; tickets at the door are $12-$17. Note: Adler After Dark guests must be 21 years and older. For more information, call 312-922-7827.
