Ties and Tassels and Charity

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for July 7th.jpgTypically known for its burlesque and variety shows, Ties and Tassels is showing audiences what community is all about. In May, one of the performers known as Spiffy Kins (aka Mae the bellydancer) and her partner were victims of a fire that destroyed their home and many of their belongings. In response to the sudden and drastic loss, Ties and Tassels organized a fundraiser event featuring more than 20 performers.

The other performers are donating their time and talents to provide more than four hours of entertainment. The show will include performances by Ammunition, Queerella Fistalot, Rosemary Maybe, Cruel Valentine, Lizzy Von Schtupp, Bella Bathory, Bizarre Sally, Miss Vine, Lady Shana, Lolita Chiquitita, Viva La Muerte, Josephine Shaker, Lee Na-Moo, Dahlia Fatale, Scarlett Deville, Dollface, Sauda Namir, Titty Perkin, Feral, Flambé Bandersnatch, Millie Mae, Dahalia Fatale and Laila.

Hosted by The Rev, Sultry Susan and Assman, the night will be festive and delightfully risqué, with a side of goodwill. There will be raffles and shot specials as well. All the proceeds from the evening will go to the Spiffy Kins recovery effort.

The fundraiser will be on Saturday, July 7 at Lizard's Liquid Lounge. Cost is just $5.00 at the door--though additional donations from particularly generous parties are more than welcome. The doors open at 6p.m. and the show will commence at 7p.m.

A website has also been created so people can learn out more about the fundraiser, send well wishes, or contribute independently.
