Lakeview East Festival of the Arts Celebrates 10th Anniversary

GB-LakeviewEast_01.jpg
More than 150 juried artists will show their work next weekend during the 10th annual Lakeview East Festival of the Arts. The festival showcases original paintings, prints, sculpture, photography, furniture, ceramics, jewelry and more. In addition to artists' booths, there will be live music on multiple stages, an interactive children's area, wine and food booths. The event is hosted and produced by the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce.

The festival will begin with a special anniversary kickoff party and preview celebration (open to the public) 6:30 to 10pm Friday. Festival hours are 10am to 6pm Saturday with live music, food and drink tents open until 10pm, and 10am to 5pm Sunday on Broadway between Belmont and Hawthorne.

The kickoff party will feature a 3D-mapping building projection of the festival's 10-year history by DCBolt Productions. Exclusive DCBolt-created imagery will be projected upon the Lakeview Athletic Club. The display will also be projected from 8 to10pm Saturday.

Other features will include:

A traditional English garden oasis created by Patch Landscaping Saturday and Sunday along Broadway between Roscoe and Hawthorne. Garden activity will include croquet games and a Madhatter's Tea Party hosted several times throughout the day by costumed members of Imaginez Ensemble.

Cooking demonstrations, led by FlavorCity's Bobby Parrish, in a tent at 3344 N. Broadway. Chefs will be featured from Lakeview restaurants such as Banh Mi, Dry Hop, D.S. Tequila Company, Bar Pastoral, QBBQ, Falafill, Ceres Table and Bountiful Eatery.

The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts on Broadway between Belmont and Hawthorne kicks off with a Friday night party. Regular festival hours will be Saturday and Sunday. Admission is a suggested $5 donation. Donors will be entered to win round-trip tickets to any scheduled destination serviced by Southwest Airlines. A complete schedule, including artists, band schedule and activities is here.
