Zombie Seinfeld: The Walking Dead version of Jerry, Elaine, Kramer & George

Zombie Seinfeld

Oh no! The Zombie Apocalypse has overrun Manhattan and the well-loved Seinfeld television series has been infected with the disease. Can the characters be saved from "Zombie-citis"? Beginning October 10, this unique show at Gorilla Tango Theatre Bucktown will start the Halloween season off with Zombie Central.

Zombie Seinfeld is a display of a truly hilarious zombie parody that helps the audience determine if anti-zombie vaccines exist, learn tricks for noticing zombie morphing and, yada, yada, yada. It's not clear whether playing "zombie-pretend" will help you get things you wouldn't normally have access to.

Through Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer's own interaction with zombies, this "show about nothing" was originally performed in Skokie. Its sold-out performance in June 2013 encouraged this production to continue to impersonate the famous TV characters in Chicago this fall. The actors playing Jerry, Elaine and George are all from the original 2013 show. Produced by EEK! Theatre with directing attributed to Jeremy M. Eden and written by Pete Mandra, the actors transport the audience to this extremely original haunted version of Seinfeld.

The cast list is as follows:

Jeremy M. Eden as Jerry
Loren Jones as Elaine
Justin Hamby as George
Phil Platakis as Kramer
Josh Simpson as J. Peterman
Jason Van Duys as Puddy
Madalyn Mattsey as Jerry's girlfriend Judith, and
Patrick Ruetschlin as Newman.

The producers of this show, EEK! Entertainment, have produced many unique comedies in Chicago for the past five years. With variety shows such as Marijunanarama, Schlocktoberfest and A Very Merry Mother-F@#$ing Christmas, they most recently in the spring of 2015 produced I HATE THEATRE! as a feature film (available for viewing on Vimeo here). They are coming out with another feature mockumentary An Intervention in 2016. Check out their YouTube channel or Twitter @AllThingsEEK for more comedic relief.

Zombie Seinfeld will run at 7:30pm Saturdays, Oct. 10, 17 and 31, and at 6pm on Sunday, Oct. 25 at Gorilla Tango Theatre Bucktown, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave. Prizes are raffled off each week. Tickets are $20 and the ticket price includes one free raffle ticket. Zombie Seinfeld is suitable for all ages and lasts approximately 60 minutes. You may purchase tickets online or by calling the box office at 773-598-4549.
