Exclusive: Aigre Doux Adds Brunch, Sunday Dinner

aigredoux.jpgHere's a scoop: Aigre Doux, one of the city's hottest new restaurants, is adding brunch on Saturdays and Sundays starting next weekend, April 21, and and will now be open for dinner on Sunday nights.

This is great news to anyone who can't get a reservation for dinner, especially since Chef Mohammed Islam was named best new chef and Aigre Doux one of the best new restaurants in the "Best Restaurants" issue of Chicago magazine — the issue is already out to subscribers and hits newsstands shortly, and the restaurant's already seen a jump in reservations.

We've got the full brunch menu after the jump.

$12 for eggs and toast? I'll pass.

Andrew / April 13, 2007 3:21 PM

Did you really expect Denny's prices, Donny?

Yeah, that's expensive, but I suspect (or at least I hope) it's not as basic as the very limited information on the menu makes it sound. They probably justify the price on the bacon (Niman Ranch, perhaps?) and home fries.

Think of it this way: a steak at Sizzler costs a whole lot less than one at Gibson's, but which one do you think is the better value?

Donny B / April 16, 2007 4:58 PM

Okay, good point. But I was kind of amazed at the prices in general (this is breakfast, right?) and then that one in particular hit me, as did the $14 pancakes. There are a lot of good pancakes in this city, so if they're charging $14, they better give you an orgasm or something. I'm just sayin'...
