Taste of Randolph Street kicks of Friday; of all the neighborhood festivals, this is the one with probably the best food and the best music — where else can you nosh on food from Sushi Wabi or Red Light while listening to Fountains of Wayne?

• McDonald's is planning to counteract the misconceptions about its food and restaurants with a group of blogs by "mom correspondents." The supposedly unedited blogs will appear on McDonalds.com June 20. [via]

Slow Food Chicago has a couple of fun events in the coming couple weeks, starting with a tour of 26th Street in Little Village.

Centerstage and Metromix offer Father's Day dining and activity suggestions.
