Just Indulge

A promising new frozen custard cafe has opened in Wicker Park: Just Indulge. While the primary focus is on custard, Just Indulge offers an assortment of fine chocolates, gourmet popcorn and other desserts as well as Chicago's own Intelligentsia coffee. The custard comes in an assortment of flavors with a wide range of toppings, and they even offer a soy-based custard for folks who don't do the milk thing. The shop has a family friendly feel to it, but is equally comfortable to the adult with a more refined sweet tooth.

Chicago has a bit of history with frozen custard; it was introduced at the 1933 World's Fair.

Just Indulge is located at 1755 W. North Ave. and is open daily 11am to 9pm — till 10pm Friday and Saturday. 773-486-6680

Haven't been there yet, however, I know the owner and she is top notch so I expect that her shop would be the same. That's who she is - A Top Notch Person!

I have not had the pleasure either of trying out their outstanding dessert line-up, but if it is as classy as the owners I am sure you will see it as the next franchising craze on the scales of McDonalds and Wendy's. I will be in Chicago soon and you can bet your soul I will go to Just Indulge and indulge on some great desserts. One more thing the owner believes she can make a great banana pudding, so I have challanged her and if you really want an outstanding banana pudding come into the store and try mine, We want you customer with the discerning pallates to be the judge. If your pallate is like mine their can be only one choice.

Drinking in Buenos Aires

By Gemma Petrie

In May I traveled to Buenos Aires and spent a week eating and drinking in South America's second largest metropolis. Many guidebooks are quick to peg Argentina as the place to drink Malbec. While this is true, Argentina has much...
