WTTW is sponsoring a free showing of the upcoming movie Julie and Julia on Thursday, August 6 at the AMC Loews Theater, 600 North Michigan. Tickets (obtained from WTTW) are required for admission to avoid the herds of food historians and Meryl Streep fans who will be all over this like lemon on chicken.

actually, I found the cached version of the event on Google and registered there. I got the confirmation via email seconds later. Yay!
Oh, just got this email:
"Thanks for your RSVP and your interest in this event! Due to
overwhelming response for tickets, we reached full capacity before your reservation came in. We will put your name on the Wait List and let you know before the event *if space opens up*. If you hear from us and are able to get on the reserved list, please note that there is a 2-seat limit for this event.
