Windy City Blogger Wednesday: 312 Dining Diva
This week I would like to introduce Audarshia of 312 Dining Diva.
What brought you to Chicago?
I'm technically a Chicago native, but born in Memphis, Tenn.; we came to Chicago when I was six months old. I grew up on the South Side of Chicago, attended Columbia College and have been a North Sider ever since.
What do you do when you aren't blogging?
I practice tantric-vinyasa yoga at Moksha. It totally balances out my hectic lifestyle that's dominated by fine food, strong cocktails and loud music.
Favorite restaurant in Chicago?
When people ask me this question I ALWAYS tell them it depends on what food we're talking about. If it's all-around cuisine, that would be Blackbird. For old-school Italian, I always go for La Scarola. And for Jamaican, I have to give it up for Uncle Joe's Jerk Chicken on the South Side.
Favorite restaurant in Chicago, if you aren't paying?
I would still go with my above suggestions.
Favorite recipe and/or post?
I don't pick favorites.
How do take your coffee?
I stopped drinking coffee seven years ago; I only drink herbal and green teas.
Cubs or Sox?
I grew up on the South Side, so we always went to White Sox games, but during my days at the Chicago Tribune (and all the free suite seats!), I was also transformed into a Cubs fan. I can be both!
What is the one thing/place/restaurant that you recommend to your out of town guests?
Too difficult to answer because it totally depends on the situation, whether it's a group of women in their early 40s or a couple looking for a romantic night out. I can tell you that it will always be centrally located with a spectacular view of our amazing skyline.
One (or two) things that you can't live without in your kitchen
George Foreman grill!
