The Pump Room at the Ambassador East Hotel will be undergoing a major renovation led by hotelier Ian Schrager, and will reopen this September. Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will be in charge of the menu, with Bradford Phillips (formerly of Blackbird, NoMI and LM) overseeing daily operations. Let's hope they leave the tasteless, odorless sheet of gold (NSFW) out of the food.
