The Art of Food: CAC's Starving Artist Dinner
The Chicago Artists Coalition is pairing four of Chicago's top chefs with four equally prominent local artists for a unique event on Thursday, Aug. 18, from 7 to 10pm at the CAC's new space at 217 N. Carpenter St. Starving Artist, will showcase both culinary and visual artistry as artists and chefs collaborate to create original work inspired by each other's aesthetic.
The pairings will be:
- Stephanie Izard, executive chef/owner of the Girl and the Goat, and painter Richard Hull
- Hillary Blanchard-Rikower, pastry chef of one sixtyblue, and conceptual artist Lauren Brescia
- Koren Grieveson, chef de cuisine of avec, and painter Tim Anderson
- Randy Zweiban, executive chef/owner of Province, and painter Judy Ledgerwood
The chefs' creations will be enjoyed by attendees, while the artists' creations will be exhibited and silent auctioned -- as well as experiences at each of the chefs' restaurants, ranging from the chef's table for two at Girl and the Goat to a one-on-one pastry class at one sixtyblue. Additional entertainment will be provided by Pearl Pistol burlesque and DJ Margot.
Tickets to the event are $125 in advance, $150 at the door (if there are any) and benefit CAC's ongoing operations.
