Alinea Drops 17 Spots in World's 50 Best Restaurants Ranking
The World's 50 Best Restaurants was released yesterday, and its top three restaurants are El Celler de Can Roca (Spain), Osteria Franciscana (Modena, Italy), and Noma (Denmark). Created in 2002 by British publication Restaurant Magazine, 50 Best is highly regarded and coveted by the global restaurant industry, despite having a heavily-criticized methodology.
Unfortunately for Chicago, Alinea fell 17 spots from last year's 9th place to this year's 26th place. Perhaps this steep plummet will inspire Grant Achatz to create an edible globe of frozen tears, dangling from a lone, distorted tree sprig.
