3. I'm about to give up on him.

roderick / October 31, 2007 4:44 PM

2. Too many sweets at work don't make me feel too good. My coworkers are slowy reversing my weight loss.

3. Pandora.com is the coolest thing ever - why did it take me so long to discover it?

Spook / October 31, 2007 4:47 PM

One:

It has been established that persons who have recently died have been returning to life and committing acts of murder.

Two:
A widespread investigation of funeral homes, morgues, and hospitals has concluded that the unburied dead have been returning to life and seeking human victims.

Three:

The main advice news reporters have been able to get from official sources is to tell private citizens to stay inside their homes behind locked doors. Do not venture outside for any reason. Keep listening to radio and TV for special instructions as this crisis develops further.

Sam / October 31, 2007 5:21 PM

1) I think I'm staying in this Friday. Every day this week I've rushed home, changed clothes, and gone out to some event/concert.

2)Someone vandalized my scooter outside of that noise show in Pilsen, and I keep forgetting to reorder a new tail light.

3)I haven't talked to my ex in 2 weeks, and haven't seen him in almost 3. This is good progress. I still dream about him, though.

3. have decided not to work out tonight

I guess that makes me a flabby lonely cat lady. oh well. I guess that's my halloween costume.

Mikey / October 31, 2007 7:52 PM

1. After throwing up in my bed and under the covers early yesterday morning as I unwittingly lay asleep, and a few more times after that on my new-ish rug while I was at work, Scotty (my pit bull) seems to be feeling better again. A diet of plain white rice seemed to help...

2. First year that my Halloween celebration consisted solely of family-oriented activities (pumpkin patch a few weeks back, the trick-or-treating madhouse on Southport last Sunday) with my girlfriend and her six-year old daughter, as opposed to dressing up as a zombie and getting shit-faced at the bars like I usually do every year...

3. Now just looking forward to smoothing out in a short while and watching a bootleg copy of Rob Zombie's Halloween that I purchased through a co-worker who lives in a neighborhood where...well, where you can buy newly-released movies on dvd out of the back of a van...

Mikey / October 31, 2007 8:54 PM

4. Funny, Andrew. I too have been thinking the past few days that I might have a cavity in a back molar (left side), and I haven't had a cavity in years...

Brandy / October 31, 2007 9:52 PM

1. Just had a great dinner at Ethiopian Diamond with two womenfrom Boston I met Saturday in an Algerian restaurant.

2. A client decided to pay me 100% upfront instead of the 25% deposit down. ROCK ON.

3. I've got an episode of America's Next Top Model to watch under lots of blankets. I hope my cat lays on me and keeps me warm.

2. Have tricked-and-treated with my boys (both were Bob The Builder)
3. Passed over again by The Great Pumpkin. And my pumpkin patch was the most sincere, dammit!

Carlotta / October 31, 2007 11:25 PM

1. The garden apartment I moved into in October is damn cold -- and the weather has been nowhere near freezing yet!

2. I gotta get ready for winter, which means sorting through all that stuff I piled into this new apartment because I had only a small window of opportunity for the move.

3. Beginning to get depressed as the end of 2007 is coming into sight.

eric / November 1, 2007 12:10 AM

1. A. got a job offer in Sandwich, Kent, but she has reservations about leaving her currently wonderful job for another possibly wonderful job. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush? Maybe but I'd leave mine in a heartbeat for the adventure. We'd be far from family if we start a family over there, but our children would be EU citizens. We looked at lush green satellite images of English countryside and started to get excited.

2. On couch, in robe.

3. A. is going to bed now. I'm going to join her.

Carlotta / November 1, 2007 12:12 AM

The above list is pretty depressing. Here's my happy list:

1. I'm glad my dad is alive and well after an emergency gall bladder removal operation last week. He sounds cheerful and happy to be alive, and various ailments notwithstanding is in decent shape for being 87!

2. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin ale, pumpkin bread, pumpkin spice Clif bars, etc. (excludes Starbuck's pumpkin spice latte -- yuck!)

3. Wondering why October & November are chockful of conflicting cultural stuff, e.g. Chicago Humanities Festival, Polish Film Festival, the gay & lesbian Reeling film festival, Chicago International Film Festival, Chicago Korean Film Festival(!!), Chicago Public Library's Book Festival, Columbia College's Creative Nonfiction Week. So much to choose from, so little time!

Milena / November 1, 2007 8:23 AM

1) my birthday is tomorrow.

2) where did the year go?

3) having to go to work on your birthday is a crime-it should be counted as a personal holiday for everyone.

3. Bacon breakfast

paul / November 1, 2007 9:25 AM

1. Hid from trick-or-treaters
2. Physical therapy re: sciatica started this morning
3. Love life

D / November 1, 2007 10:06 AM

1. Do I kill time today by catching up on thank you notes, or by getting crap off my computer onto my pocket drive in anticipation of the new job I haven't looked for yet?

2. Wish I'd had time this morning to go grab breakfast from somewhere instead of rushing into work so I could debate what to do to fill my time today

3. My traps are killing me...need to start doing yoga

Shasta / November 1, 2007 10:07 AM

1. Found new hairstyle. Protects my ends and keeps hair out of my face without tension on the roots. Sa-weet!

2. Still eating oatmeal I got 2 hours ago. Contemplating lunch options.

3. Ok Cupid is the devil.

skafiend / November 1, 2007 10:09 AM

1. Still planning for trip to SF, wondering what clothes to bring and how much money I'd need for a week if living on the cheap.

2. Still smiling at the guy in my apartment building going out for Halloween in full Robin (of Batman and Robin fame) costume

3. Depressed/pissed off at big Lowes ad in today's Sun-Times hawking Christmas shit so early, as Thanksgiving continues to get steamrolled.

David / November 1, 2007 10:26 AM

1. As usual, I'm still lying in bed. I think that needs to change soon.
2. I'm excited about the new people I've been hanging out with.
3. I'm reminded that I need to go to the doctor; it's been too long since I've had any kind of check up.

Emerson Dameron / November 1, 2007 10:42 AM

1. Thrilled about switching jobs next week, frustrated in my interpersonal relationships, thirsty for adventure and enrolled in a gym.

2. Self-conscious about how well I fit in here.

3. This one's none of your business.

office bitch / November 1, 2007 10:54 AM

1. Hoping that the last two months of 2007 go quickly... career-ending injury and boyfriend moving away made it quite the yucky year...

2. Impressed with myself for not eating any candy and spending 2 hours at the gym on Halloween

3. Contemplating a move to Atlanta. Or San Francisco. Somewhere warmer and away from the CTA

Anonymous / November 1, 2007 11:37 AM

1. I feel like I've just cheated on my wife. Last night was the 2nd of two evenings spent catching up with an Ex-girlfriend. We were on-and-off for 6 years. Last night didn't get physical, but we discovered our intense emotional connection hasn't weakened despite many years apart. Surprised, confused.

2. I've had less than 12 hours sleep in the last 4 days. I don't understand why I could never pull an all-nighter in college. Now in my mid-30s, I've navigated myself through two of them this week without any chemical stimulants.

3. This lack of rest has looped the same song in my head since Tuesday morning.

Sorry for this blabbing confession, but Fuel caught me on a seriously weird day.

m / November 1, 2007 11:48 AM

1. Wondering if boys will always sorta make me feel a bit crazy.
2. Hoping that soon I won't live check to check.
3. So greatful for loving family and friends.

1) Looking forward to my Reiki attunement this weekend, even tho I haven't had caffeine for three days and am ready to claw my coworkers eyes out.

2) lunch at Hannah's Bretzel: it's possible to eat healthy, organic food in the loop. However, please mortgage your entire family first.

3) My boss just postponed my year-end review AGAIN, which means I have to keep sleeping on angry futon. No new bed this weekend for me.

spence / November 1, 2007 2:55 PM

1. Finding it a bit hard to concentrate on 1st day back from 3 weeker in Argentina.

2. I will not eat a steak again for the foreseeable future.

3. Big changes at the office in my absence.

Lindsay / November 1, 2007 3:16 PM

2.) Tomorrow is going to be a crazy day… two presentation to give, two to sit through.
3.) I think I’ll make Pad Thai for dinner.

Spook / November 1, 2007 3:28 PM

Wondering how any adult(?) could still be listing to
steve dahl who I out grew in the 8th grade, but turn around and "boo" the use of "flatmate" and "traps" in above posts!

Although I do boo people who call their boyfriend, "the boy" which sounds like something off a dumb sit com about the lives a vapid trendy people.

Wishing I didn't have to go to this 3:30pm meeting, let alone this 6:30pm stupid fundraiser where I have to shell out 100 bucks.

I wanna go home at 5:00pm and watch the next two DVD's of the last final season of the Sapranos

zoenotcool / November 1, 2007 3:37 PM

1. Is it Friday yet? I hate November (and March) the mostest.
2. Last Halloween living in the city, probably
3. Can't believe my birthday, brother's birthday and Halloween are over.

p / November 1, 2007 4:09 PM

sp##k, u crack me up dog...that sAprano's spelling? priceless. you're killin' it! as far as "flatmates" goes, i lump it in with "cheers" signatures as affected and say boo. I'd also give the gas face to calling mcdonald's "takeaway." And "traps"talk brings to mind oakleys and workout wear and blonde dudes named sven. And to answer your question- listening to talk radio is what one does while picking someone up at the airport. That's a rule.

who'd you give $100?

Spook / November 1, 2007 5:05 PM

Yo R

glade you got ya laugh off my "Sapranos" spelling son,
I also found your "rilly" instead of really, pretty funny too boot,
Holms :-)

And honestly I don't use any of those terms, but "the boy" is the worse, for the record.

But I think we both agree that white folks-Americans, should just leave the invention of "slang talk" to Black folk here, Africans, and Europeans. They can use it, just don't try to invent it, Eminem excluded.

And finally P dawg, on your next air port drive get your "talk" from WBEZ FM91.5. Yea I make fun of it and refuse to donate, but it is the best thing going on the midwest air, kid, word is bond, son!

p.s cause we homies, I would tell you where the 100 bucks- the fundraiser is going too- but every body would know and I'd be considered an even greater scourge of these cyber territories, but trust me, it may not seem like it if I told you, but its all about the Revolution in the end

Andrew, et al., sorry to digress :-)

Spook / November 1, 2007 5:06 PM

opps I mean "P"

PMan / November 1, 2007 8:54 PM

1. Wish I was still locked in eye contact with that curly haired girl on the el
2. I am not looking forward to the grey months
3. 'I Feel So Bad' by Little Milton may be the best song ever.

Baldeesh / November 1, 2007 9:37 PM

1. Life's pretty good. I can pay all the bills, I've got some great friends, and my cat functions perfectly as an alarm clock. Thanks for getting me out of bed on Wednesday morning, buddy. I would have seriously overslept otherwise.

2. I'm still trying to figure out how it is that I went to school for math, yet writing comprises 80% of my job.

3. My family has already started with the whole "What do you want for Christmas this year?" thing. I want nothing. Really. I've spent the last, oh, 6 months going through all of my shit and just getting rid of stuff. The last thing I need is more stuff. Can't we just not do presents? I'd rather just buy myself a digital camera and have a zombie movie marathon like we did 2 years ago and call it a day.

sam / November 2, 2007 10:19 AM

All in all, pretty productive.
