Absolutely none. Especially on Gapers Block.

Pete / April 1, 2005 1:58 PM

Duh, none. Gee, my kid will just love that Clicky doll.

Fox Trot, Get Fuzzy and Pearls Before Swine.

This weird guy at my office went around telling everyone he got engaged last night. We were all pretty floored, because he's weird. Then he came around later and told us all it was an April Fool's joke. We are all relieved.

Otherwise? Nuthin'. And when can I get tickets to see Malkovich singing "Hakuna Matata?"

vit / April 1, 2005 2:26 PM

I don't know, those Boston hotdogs look pretty creepy to me.

When I got to my "L" stop this morning (Foster Purple Line) the doors opened and...we were not at the platform. I was on the last car and the train operator had not pulled all the way up. It was hysterical. Someone had to pull the emergency-break-ball-thingy above the doors once the train started moving again.

The only thing I find puzzling is that the train operator didn't get on the speaker to say "April Fools" after her awesome gag. She must have forgotten.

This morning XRT, pretending to do a spring pledge drive, like NPR is doing. The had the phones ringing in the background, and everything. It was good.

steven / April 1, 2005 2:57 PM

Haven't noticed any gags, but I suddenly have the urge to go gambling.

Steve / April 1, 2005 3:10 PM

Stylus has a mildly amusing one running.

Also, my HS alum site had a funny post from the site owner saying that the school's lawyers had hit him with a cease-and-desist. I was disappointed it was a prank, since my classmates have all remained selfish spoiled suburban jerks. Just like me, except for the suburban part....

waleeta / April 1, 2005 3:11 PM

what's with the kitten being chased? We had that picture up in my office last year and the headline read: "every time you masterbate God kills a kitten".

My dad just called me saying that my Mom had told him I needed to know how to say "welcome" in Assyrian, something I didn't ask her to do. We're thinking it's an April Fool's joke, but trying to figure out why......

Emerson Dameron / April 1, 2005 3:27 PM

My supervisor said to a co-worker, "Nice dress," then followed that with "April Fools."

Steve / April 1, 2005 4:05 PM

I'm glad I don't sit near the crash door on our floor, because four or five of my co-workers just took turns knocking on it and pretending to have forgotten their ID badges as a gullible co-worker kept getting up to answer the door....

Steve / April 1, 2005 4:06 PM

Of course, the best reply to Emerson's supervisor woulda been "I wonder what HR will have to say about that," then waiting a full minute or two to hit back with the "April Fools."

Leah / April 1, 2005 4:32 PM

I only caught two radio things this morning.

I hate to admit it, but I listen to Mancow. ONLY because I go to sleep listening to Loveline on q101 on my clock radio.

I woke up to the Mancow staff talking about how Michael Jackson had died and that the Illini had to forfeit their game tomorrow.

Then on The Mix (have to listen at work, I'm actually cooler than these two radio stations let on) on Eric and Cathy they did a thing about the new weight-based Pet Tax. The absurdity and that it took until the end of the show for anyone to realize it was a prank really made it work.

Erica Burke / April 1, 2005 4:36 PM

My co-worker brought in some Goose Island just now to kick the weekend off right. It was part of an April Fools thing, but it wasn't funny or prank-y, it was just cool.

GB: lamest "pranks" ever.

michael / April 1, 2005 4:45 PM

google the first on I saw today, took a minute to remember it was April 1st.

Benjy / April 1, 2005 4:49 PM

Wait, XRT's pledge was a joke? Then how come when I called, Lin Brehmer took my credit card info? And where will the $365 be going to?

e_five / April 1, 2005 4:54 PM

The CTA was on time today.

J Dubya / April 1, 2005 4:55 PM

Sent somebody out for coffee today and left before they came back.
Weak, I know, but yet still very satisfying.

ote / April 1, 2005 5:01 PM

That Merge post about Andersonville going Norwegian is pretty funny.

Uh, that is an April Fool's joke, right?

Leelah / April 2, 2005 8:02 AM

I was in my classroom after my first period class when the freshmen students that are in there second period came in screaming and yelling that their biology teacher was giving them their midterm out of the blue. As it turns out, the first period class of said biology teacher started that one, and the victims did not find out the truth until whenever they had biology, so they spent a couple of hours suffering. Made me laugh.

Meganita / April 2, 2005 11:33 AM

Metropolis coffee shop in Edgewater had a sign up that they were getting bought out by Starbucks - at least I hope that was an April Fools.

I dug the one Peter Gammons threw out there, saying that Pete Rose had been declared eligible for Hall of Fame consideration this year.
