I think the Packers are going to win. Beating the Seahawks was like taking down an army of ants, so the Bears are coasting on overfluffed confidence. Sorry!

Jason / January 20, 2011 2:48 PM

The Steelers.

Mike / January 20, 2011 3:04 PM

I could care less but I'll be glad when it's over so that Facebook is no longer saturated with stupid Bears-related posts by my friends. It's been a while since I've seen so much tribal, derogatory, immature blather. Ooh, my "team" of highly-paid goons is better than yours! Oh, and 15 emails went back and forth today in my office about the pool -- to over 120 employees! Stop replying to all you idiots!

Ditka / January 20, 2011 3:26 PM

@Mike...just so we're clear...you are irritated that you are included in a "Reply All" email. Yet, you post here for 'All' to read your 13-year old teenage girl rant.

Fair enough buddy!

My prediction is that Mike got beat up by some so called "goons" years ago, and still harbors some resentment. Next time, punch back!

Bears: 28
Packers: 10

Oh yeah! Go Bears! Reply All rules!!! :-)

Anthony Lewellen / January 20, 2011 4:08 PM

I only care enough to write this much.

Mike / January 20, 2011 4:18 PM

1. "Teenage girl" ... check.
2. "Musta got beat up" psychoanalysis ... check.

What, no graphic non-clever use of the word "packer" to send me further into humiliation?

Ditka / January 20, 2011 4:30 PM

@Mike...Just so we're clear, your condescending question is a follow up to you calling people "Idiots" for Replying All.

There is so much non-cleverness going on that I can't keep up. :-)

Well played, sir...well played indeed.

Mike / January 20, 2011 5:03 PM

Fifteen emails back and forth about gambling on a football game to the entire office in the span of two hours. It's obnoxious and not really comparable to an online slice-of-life internet poll ... don'tchathink, Sport?

Ditka / January 20, 2011 6:23 PM

@Mike...hey man, you are the Idiot Savant here, so if you say so then fair enough.

You realize that the inventor of the "Delete" button is turning in his grave right now.

Fifteen emails...the humanity!!! :-)

Chris / January 20, 2011 6:31 PM

Wow what a bunch of stinkers in this bunch.

Sure it's just a game, but way more exciting than what's going on Facebook or your email.

Go Bears!!

Spook / January 20, 2011 7:28 PM

Yea Mike really really sucks! I hate him. What a wet blanket! I bet he's also all hot and bothered that the last question regarding the mayoral race barely got ten responses in three days, while this totally foodie, delish, BFF, Indie, beard, Lula, hands down, Longmen & Beard, vintage, craft, awesome question( about sports)
got ten replies in just five minutes after it posted.

Actually I bet if Mike was forced to pick a team for this momentous event, he'd probably go with the Packers because thinking( to himself)
that Chicagoans deserve to lose because sports is the only thing they really care about

p.s. I bet he also has managed to find one of the few bars that won't be televising the game to hang out in! Even worse, I bet it's only three blocks from his house.

Tom / January 21, 2011 9:10 AM

The Packers are the better team and should win. Sports are a fun diversion as long as we don't take them too seriously. Sorry Mike, but it's woven into the fabric of our culture...

Mucky Fingers / January 21, 2011 10:30 AM

I don't follow football at all, but I'm enjoying the Facebook posts from friends referring to the BEARMAGEDDON and the APACKALYPSE. The internet is so full of negativity, that I appreciate any kind of positive vibes in any form.

Charles / January 21, 2011 11:10 AM

Want the Bears to win, and they are playing at home which is good. Packers are a great team with Rodgers and Matthews able to do some serious damage...should be a great game.

James / January 21, 2011 11:19 AM

I'm with Jason on this one.

Spook / January 21, 2011 4:45 PM

Mucky;

Where one person sees "internet negativity" another sees "internet outsider art" ;-)

Personally, I say bravo to any one not afraid to challenge any one of America's sad addictions, in any forum. But that's just how I roll.

Mucky Fingers / January 21, 2011 6:13 PM

Spook:

Nah, it's just bitching and moaning. You're on the net, you know perfectly well how often people are prone to trolling. It's just whining.

There are worse addictions that sports. Watching sports can be reduced to nothing more than an interest because you can pursue it free of charge. An addiction will always cost your money, because an addiction is usually a hobby gone out of control.

The way I roll, shopping malls and discount warehouses are far more representative of a sad American addiction than sports can ever be.

Spook / January 22, 2011 12:39 PM

Muckytada al-Sadr

you've always been wise gaper council. Would you really call someone( in Chicago of all places) who cuts against the grain by being brave enough to raise a red flag about our mindless sports culture, a troll?

And even more important, thinking broadly and critically, do you think it wise to
reduce
American Sports addiction as "nothing more than an interest because you can pursue it free of charge. An addiction will always cost your money, because an addiction is usually a hobby gone out of control....
shopping malls and discount warehouses are far more representative of a sad American addiction than sports can ever be."

Honestly as soon as I read that I thought about the what happened a mere state away to Lizzy Seeberg who reported being raped by a Notre Dame football star and the next day was warn by a fellow football player( before she committed suicide),
“Don’t do anything you would regret. Messing with Notre Dame football is a bad idea."

Cheryl / January 23, 2011 6:34 PM

I normally don't give a damn, but there was some idiot thug on the L this morning on the way to the game who tried to pick a fight with some guy in a Packers jersey. This guy was so fucking obnoxious it made me really happy to see he flew all the way from Denver to see his team lose. If he got beat up and someone stole his coat at the game, that would make my day.
