Question suggested by Ian. If you have a good Fuel question, email it to inbox@gapersblock.com.

I wouldn't say "favorite" but I use BUSTER on the iphone to check the CTA bus schedules

Jasmine / May 27, 2010 9:45 AM

I second SR's mention of Buster.

The blog is done and over, but the extant posts make for great reading:

One man's quest to quantify the best Mexican food in the greater West Town area. I still applaud the effort.

Anyone know where I can get a salsa verde milkshake?

Not sure if you noticed - but the burrito braket was run by Nate Silver of baseball (PETCOA) and political (FiveThirtyEight.com) fame....a true triple threat!

For phone apps, we really like the Time Out Chicago app. Tells you what's nearby by food, drink, and other activities using gps...we use it ALOT

Gapers, Chicagoist, Edgewater Community Buzz, Clout City, Beachwood and, although they're not entirely "Chicago-focused," I have to plug my friends' blogs. They're a husband and wife.

Her blog: Safe and Sound, the adventures of a blind woman and her Seeing Eye Dog in Chicago and elsewhere as they tour on her childrens book.

His blog: Reading With Scissors, the goofy shit people try to sell us.

First, a big thank you for the comment above, very flattering to be mentioned with all these other high-quality blogs. Second, I ma adding Gaper's Block tomy personal list of favortie blogs, *love* that you do not have one of those frustrating "write what you see in this box" things in order to leave a comment, those of us who are blind can't see a dang thing in the box so are often prevented from commenting. Thanks, Gaper's Block!

Definitely ChiTransit, a new iPhone app to track the CTA. It includes both buses and trains.

Movies Filmed in Chicago is really cool. Has all the popular movies - Blues Brothers, Ferris, Wanted, Groundhog Day... It's great to see where all of these movies were filmed - easy to find with maps and driving directions.
