Nothing. It's not a "real" holiday anyway.
The important day is in September (Mexican Independence Day). I don't know of one single Mexican that celebrates it -- and yes, I am Mexican myself.

Cinco de Mayo is just an excuse for idiots to get drunk and wear sombreros.

I think I get it, Ale x! It's like a holiday decoy. Get all the gringos psyched in May so that way they just stand around confused in September and don't get in the way of Los Mexicanos y sus cervezas. Too bad the Irish didn't think of that.
