I ate a crap-ton of sushi Saturday night in DC. I was shocked by how much I was able to eat. I dont get to eat it all the often here cause none of my friends dig it like i do.

i guess though my item would have to be starbucks iced coffee with a little half n half and some vanilla syrup. i wish i had a dispenser for it on my desk at work

Mo / July 25, 2005 3:26 PM

cheese puffs or french fries. but honestly, the one i would win hands down is buttered toast.

margo / July 25, 2005 3:55 PM

Baked Cheetos, no question. Its a little scary how quickly I can run through a bag if they're around.

NotSoHealthy / July 25, 2005 3:56 PM

Am I stating the obvious.... White Castles

it's wafer thin / July 25, 2005 4:36 PM

those sugar wafer cookies. Usually comes in pink, orange and brown. At the euro markets you can get bags of them with hazelnut and chocolate flavor flaves. and then you can eat a whole bag.

robin.. / July 25, 2005 4:36 PM

tuna noodle casserole. it's kind of like a converse (logic experts: am i using that right?) fishes-and-loaves situation: no matter how much there is, i can eat it all. in times of plenty and in times of mega-plenty, my body simply does not run out of room to consume more tuna noodle casserole. i think it's my history of methodist pot lucks in childhood.

carl / July 25, 2005 4:40 PM

pistachios

F!Dave / July 25, 2005 4:47 PM

Bologna. I can eat a pound of it in under five minutes. God only knows what I could consume with a larger supply.

jen / July 25, 2005 4:50 PM

and i've seen dave consume that bologna. gross.
funny thing is, naz, i was going to say sushi earlier but questioned my ability to eat it in a competition setting. with the pressure on, i'm not sure how i'd hold up.

FlowFeel / July 25, 2005 4:50 PM

Rockit's Sweet Potato Fries! - Any challengers?

Thurston / July 25, 2005 4:53 PM

Cheez-Its and sushi (maki or sashimi form)

Blueberries.

jen*nee / July 25, 2005 5:00 PM

I'm feeling spectacularly lowbrow to be the the first to mention PIZZA!

Y'all GOT to get down with the pie!

Matt / July 25, 2005 5:01 PM

Someone should put a competition of different kinds of eating contests together. Such as having a day where there is one contest of like pizza, one of hot dogs, one of ice cream, one of funnel cakes, etc. This way people don't have to pick just one thing to have a contest about. As long as you have an open stomach, the skies the limit.

julie / July 25, 2005 5:09 PM

cashews.

Cinnamon / July 25, 2005 5:22 PM

HOKKIGAI!

Easy. Lobster! A friend in Maine once challenged me to see how many in one sitting. I managed five 1.5 lbs. of those babies and it's a memory I long savor.

Huckle Cat / July 25, 2005 7:45 PM

Popcorn

sousboy / July 25, 2005 7:50 PM

pan sauted greek sweetbreads. one after another they just keep going in. pick one up put it in and go to heaven. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. They are what i crave.

Leo / July 25, 2005 7:50 PM

I won the peanut butter and jelly sandwich in high school. Nearly choked to death, but still managed to swallow eight PBJs while the huge football players were only managing three or four. As I started to choke on the last one, the thought that really upset me was that my poor parents were going to have to get the news that their son was slain by peanut butter. What an idiotic, idiotic food to use for an eating contest.

Stephen / July 25, 2005 8:37 PM

The Philly Steak sandwich from the Chicago Diner. Man, I could eat like a hundred million billion of those things.

Oh wait, I think I have. Just not in one sitting (yet).

MikeH / July 25, 2005 9:33 PM

Shrimp. Or gummi bears.

steven / July 25, 2005 9:43 PM

Dark Chocolate!!!

Cinnamon / July 26, 2005 10:12 AM

I've actually witnessed Andrew eat an entire pineapple cut into bites and dipped in chocolate. I didn't time him, but I was impressed.

Strawberry / July 26, 2005 10:14 AM

Those Double-chocolate Joe-Joes that Trader Joe's sells. Is anyone else strangely addicted?

Naz / July 26, 2005 10:15 AM

I might be able to do pineapple but I know I could definitely do watermelon all day long.

sky / July 26, 2005 10:40 AM

No question, Macaroni and Cheese. The cheesy goodness, it's sick but seriously i could go forever.

mattngtv / July 26, 2005 11:07 AM

Brooke / July 26, 2005 11:15 AM

Baskin Robbins Peanut Butter and Chocolate ice cream. Sadly, I can eat a pre-packed quart in about 15 minutes.

jennifer / July 26, 2005 11:26 AM

idiotboy / July 26, 2005 11:42 AM

Sand, I can eat that stuff for days!

katie / July 26, 2005 11:48 AM

i didn't earn the nickname "cobbler gobbler" for nothing!

Mister C / July 26, 2005 12:10 PM

I second pistachios and cashews, but PFarm (as the kids aren't calling it) Goldfish are something I could just hork down for days at a time. I once bought one of those super-gigantic cartons of them in a vain attempt to make myself sick of them (trying to replicate the old saying about "if you want to get sick of a food, just get a job where it's made"). Two days later, I was physically ill, but still couldn't shake that Goldfish jones.

Lloyd P. / July 26, 2005 12:11 PM

Chocolate mousse, tiramisu, taramusalata w/excellent bread. I'd be very good in a contest involving these delicous foods.

roderick / July 26, 2005 12:13 PM

Spam.

Blame it on my parents, I love that stuff.

jennifer / July 26, 2005 12:17 PM

Veronica #2 / July 26, 2005 12:26 PM

khir (the rice pudding-like dessert from the local Indian restaurant). I'm doing 2 bowls at a time each pass through the buffet. I'm thinking there's got to be some way to do 3 or 4...

Tater tots

Eamon / July 26, 2005 2:41 PM

Clearly, there will have to be an eating contest or two at the Gapers Block cookout. When is that going to be, exactly?

Regnig / July 26, 2005 4:22 PM

Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls.

sky / July 26, 2005 4:55 PM

Clearly needs to be an eating contest. But I hope this isn't one of those things when you're out with friends and you all say how you seriously can eat a whole pizza, and you get yourself all prepped to do it, and your friend who said they can eat a whole one themselves eats 2, says how full they are, and hence gives you a complex. I mean, when talking how much food i can eat, there is no bullshit here. Balls to the WALL!

Cinnamon / July 26, 2005 6:18 PM

Good question, Eamon. I'll bring it up at tonight's meeting.

hhhmmmm........ / September 7, 2006 4:10 PM
