hummus. a staple in my household that i can't live without.
Twizzlers.
Kraft mac & cheese. Oh yeah.
Prime rib. Or lobster. Washed down with Jack and Coke.
Sushi - as many will attest, I can eat A LOT of sushi. Bring it.
Gummi bears. Or Lucky Charms. Peeps, too.
spaghetti with marinara.
though, we have lots of stiff competition:
http://www.ifoce.com/
Chilled cans of Borden® sweetened condensed milk.
Cans and cans and cans...
swedish fish or dill pickles.
Nutella on Ritz crackers. I could eat it till it comes out my ears.
artichokes.
Sushi. Or ice cream sammiches.
I ate a crap-ton of sushi Saturday night in DC. I was shocked by how much I was able to eat. I dont get to eat it all the often here cause none of my friends dig it like i do.
i guess though my item would have to be starbucks iced coffee with a little half n half and some vanilla syrup. i wish i had a dispenser for it on my desk at work
cheese puffs or french fries. but honestly, the one i would win hands down is buttered toast.
Guacamole. Mountains of Guacamole.
Liverwurst Sandwiches. I would dominate.
Risotto. Yep, I could take down anyone on just about any kind of risotto. Particularly with truffles, if someone else is paying. Paired with a big honkin' Barolo. Yeah, baby...
Baked Cheetos, no question. Its a little scary how quickly I can run through a bag if they're around.
Am I stating the obvious.... White Castles
Protein tidbits from Soul Vegetarian.
I am a founding member of the vegan EATT crew. (Eat All The Time)
those sugar wafer cookies. Usually comes in pink, orange and brown. At the euro markets you can get bags of them with hazelnut and chocolate flavor flaves. and then you can eat a whole bag.
tuna noodle casserole. it's kind of like a converse (logic experts: am i using that right?) fishes-and-loaves situation: no matter how much there is, i can eat it all. in times of plenty and in times of mega-plenty, my body simply does not run out of room to consume more tuna noodle casserole. i think it's my history of methodist pot lucks in childhood.
pistachios
Bologna. I can eat a pound of it in under five minutes. God only knows what I could consume with a larger supply.
and i've seen dave consume that bologna. gross.
funny thing is, naz, i was going to say sushi earlier but questioned my ability to eat it in a competition setting. with the pressure on, i'm not sure how i'd hold up.
Rockit's Sweet Potato Fries! - Any challengers?
Cheez-Its and sushi (maki or sashimi form)
Blueberries.
I'm feeling spectacularly lowbrow to be the the first to mention PIZZA!
Y'all GOT to get down with the pie!
Someone should put a competition of different kinds of eating contests together. Such as having a day where there is one contest of like pizza, one of hot dogs, one of ice cream, one of funnel cakes, etc. This way people don't have to pick just one thing to have a contest about. As long as you have an open stomach, the skies the limit.
cashews.
HOKKIGAI!
Honey Nut Cheerios
OR
Kubba - Assyrian cracked wheat and meat dish. My dad and I don't stop eating it until my mother takes it away from us. Seriously it's scary.
chick-o-sticks
Strips of bacon. mmmmmm.... bacon. But I applaud NotSoHealthy with the sliders. If he/she were destined to win, I'd come in a very close second.
Matt-
Your wish has come true!
And it's happening this weekend.
the Alka-Seltzer open!
Easy. Lobster! A friend in Maine once challenged me to see how many in one sitting. I managed five 1.5 lbs. of those babies and it's a memory I long savor.
Popcorn
pan sauted greek sweetbreads. one after another they just keep going in. pick one up put it in and go to heaven. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. They are what i crave.
I won the peanut butter and jelly sandwich in high school. Nearly choked to death, but still managed to swallow eight PBJs while the huge football players were only managing three or four. As I started to choke on the last one, the thought that really upset me was that my poor parents were going to have to get the news that their son was slain by peanut butter. What an idiotic, idiotic food to use for an eating contest.
The Philly Steak sandwich from the Chicago Diner. Man, I could eat like a hundred million billion of those things.
Oh wait, I think I have. Just not in one sitting (yet).
Shrimp. Or gummi bears.
Chips Ahoy!
I'm loving some of these combinations -- Cheez-Its and sushi? I know you don't mean together, but still.
Me? Pineapple.
Peach yogurt
Peanut butter Tastykakes
Dark Chocolate!!!
I've actually witnessed Andrew eat an entire pineapple cut into bites and dipped in chocolate. I didn't time him, but I was impressed.
Those Double-chocolate Joe-Joes that Trader Joe's sells. Is anyone else strangely addicted?
I might be able to do pineapple but I know I could definitely do watermelon all day long.
No question, Macaroni and Cheese. The cheesy goodness, it's sick but seriously i could go forever.
protein tidbits from Soul Veg. bring it on!
Baskin Robbins Peanut Butter and Chocolate ice cream. Sadly, I can eat a pre-packed quart in about 15 minutes.
It shows, too. Damn them.
broccoli. seriously.
is sour cream considered a food? if so, sour cream.
if not, still, sour cream.
Sand, I can eat that stuff for days!
i didn't earn the nickname "cobbler gobbler" for nothing!
I second pistachios and cashews, but PFarm (as the kids aren't calling it) Goldfish are something I could just hork down for days at a time. I once bought one of those super-gigantic cartons of them in a vain attempt to make myself sick of them (trying to replicate the old saying about "if you want to get sick of a food, just get a job where it's made"). Two days later, I was physically ill, but still couldn't shake that Goldfish jones.
Chocolate mousse, tiramisu, taramusalata w/excellent bread. I'd be very good in a contest involving these delicous foods.
i can eat a whole tube of oscar meyer Braunschweiger and still want more. YUM.
i could also eat alot of green beans with either teriyaki or peanut sauce
khir (the rice pudding-like dessert from the local Indian restaurant). I'm doing 2 bowls at a time each pass through the buffet. I'm thinking there's got to be some way to do 3 or 4...
cannoli! preferably chocolate-covered.
ben and jerrys used to have chocolate peanut butter cookie dough ice cream back in the mid 90's, they couldnt ship enough of it to the scottsdale az market i lived by
it was a truly disqusting display
Hmm. no pornographic comments. Though for sure someone would have gone there by now.
California Rolls
Cara Mia marinated artichoke hearts.
Tater tots
Clearly, there will have to be an eating contest or two at the Gapers Block cookout. When is that going to be, exactly?
Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls.
Clearly needs to be an eating contest. But I hope this isn't one of those things when you're out with friends and you all say how you seriously can eat a whole pizza, and you get yourself all prepped to do it, and your friend who said they can eat a whole one themselves eats 2, says how full they are, and hence gives you a complex. I mean, when talking how much food i can eat, there is no bullshit here. Balls to the WALL!
Good question, Eamon. I'll bring it up at tonight's meeting.
i say milk chocolate or fettachini alfread with angel hair pasta all the way!!!!!!!!! or smoothies!!!!!! yum..........
baby dill pickles, i eat them like chips after i run
chips ahoy i think would be the best contest for a record setter any interest please info
