Dang Andrew, I was just about to say some people will have a field day with this one -- but all that proves is MY mind is in gutter...
For a straight answer....
Probably once every two weeks. That's includes any meal: breakfast, lunch or dinner. Dining in a good restaurant, maybe once every two months. Started having lunch instead of dinner in good places, as it's often great value and it's nice to watch everyone rushing back to work, as you raise your drink.
We would eat out more, but freelance income is currently 'variable' on a monthly basis, but strangely our mortgage is not....
Way to freakin' much.
Usually for lunch: 4-5 times a week, dinner: 3-4 times a week.
Eek...
5 times a week: I get the same sandwich from Jimmy Johns for lunch everyday. Never on weekends, never for dinner.
for some reason i never consider buying lunch at work eating out.....so i would say 2-3 times a week for dinner (casual/take-out mostly; dress-up once every 6 weeks). can't seem to shake the habit of ordering pizza every friday night!
Not too often during the week...but almost every weekend seems like a bender.
Quite often. I usually eat at home (home office woo!) for lunch so for dinner, I'm usually out and about doing stuff and will grab food when doing so. Weekends are made for eating out for the most part - dinners usually. I enjot eating out, especially for foods I don't usually cook or eat regularly.
I'm actually trying to eat at one new place every week. Not always possible, but I like doing it as much as I can.
2-3 times a week for lunch, but I'm trying to cut back to 0. For dinner 3-4 times a week and always on Friday and Saturday. If we quit going out we'd have no problem affording a large home. So when we get that larger home, we may not be going out as much.
I treat myself to lunch out once a week and try to subsist on leftovers the rest of the week (eating out in the Loop is expensive, man!). We usually get dinner out once or twice a week.
All the time for lunch on weekdays. That's the most specific I care to 'fess up to, other than saying "Too much for my own good."
I go out to eat for every meal. I used to eat out about 10 times a week, but I've just upped it to 12 a week and if I ate more, I'd pay someone to cook those meals, too.
I'd rather spend the time reading and chatting and playing and walking than, well, cooking.
nothing wrong with hiring a professional to do the job, I say.
Before the kid, 4-5 times a week in interesting restaurants. After the kid, 1-2 times a month at Hometown Buffet. The trade-off is worth it, but I sooo miss fine dining.
Not often enough. One dinner a week, once in awhile a breakfast meeting (mmm, banana bread french toast at Dixie Kitchen) and almost never for lunch. Lunch places near my River North office have gotten expensive and/or mediocre. Besides, there's no way I can get any afternoon work done after eating at Mr. Beef.
I can cook just about anything, so I tend to go out for things that can't be done right in my kitchen - fried chicken, burritos, gyros, duck foie gras - in other words, things I really shouldn't be eating a lot of anyway.
Does eating over the sink constitute "eating out"?
2-3 times per week -- usually at the Pick Me Up. I rarely look at the menu anymore...

Meals, that is. Get your mind out of the gutter.
