Question suggested by Joe.

I usually head to the fireworks on the Fourth down at Foster & Sheraton, but some friends are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary on the 4th, so we'll be with them.

My neighborhood has been booming for weeks now, and will continue for weeks after. But tonight/tomorrow will be the peak.

I can see all the lakefront shows from my East Village attic. Classy, I know.

And those who live or hang out here well know... who needs the official fireworks when you have countless 12 year old hooligans turning the alleys into their own personal pyrotechnic playgrounds?

All just one block from the police station. Ballsy lil' whippersnappers!

It's a good thing the city council banned sparklers. I'm sure there will be no multi-thousand dollar illegal fireworks displays going off in Humboldt Park this year.

I saw the local fireworks, which were great, and then had my own multi thousand dollar (not quite, but it was still large) illegal firework display in a park. Luckily the getaway car wasn't too far, and we avoided the 5-0.

I'm not that big into the fireworks show. If I see it, fine. If not, no big deal. I always thought a big parade would be more appropriate. American heroes would be recognized, young, old, all cultures would come together and celebrate the US.

just sat on my stoop and watched a couple drive-bys.

It wasn't as lively as last year, but seeing an Uzi - in full auto - was glorious and awe-inspiring.

Logan Square was INSANE last night. My condo smelled like fireworks, and my dogs were freaked out to say the least.
