I thought the piece about Tap Rooms was unbelievably good.
I think the post regarding the 1985 Bears essay was the best. By far the best.
Proof yet again that the 1985 Bears -- when handled with care -- will always overcome the 1985 Raiders in Tecmo Bowl.
Bo knows how to get beaten like a little sissy -- 28 to 0, Bears win...
I loved Fuel's "Indian summer! Cubs!" I thought that said it all.
I thought Luke Seeman's Detour piece on the importance of supporting local businesses was great.
not being from chicago, i stumbled upon this site about 5 months ago and have been a daily reader ever since. i met a girl who lives & works in chicago 6 months ago and will be moving from iowa to chicago sometime in the next month (without a job!!) so, i have LOVED many of the pieces Gaper's Block has offered. I enjoyed the Drive-In pieces describing wonderful new food options that I can't wait to try. I continually impressed my chicago girlfried by sending her some of the cool & interesting links I find while reading this site. I love FUEL ("Hidden Gems" in particular). AND, this site has encouraged me to broaden myself a little. Just this afternoon, I taught myself out to create an html link so I could be a better poster on here. So, Thanks!!!

Undoubtedly, Ramsin Canon's "Overtime: Born in Chicago, Creaking Towards Death" in Revenge of the Second City. One of the finest essays I've read all year, anywhere. Excellent work.
