I'll be finishing unpacking, playing with my new kitten, drinking some beers, and going to the Kane County Flea Market. Deals ahoy!

robin.. / September 2, 2004 3:19 PM

getting out of town, on a plane with some fine sedatives in my bloodstream to keep the flip-out to a minimum...

anne / September 2, 2004 3:22 PM

Camping with a friend and her dog! Yay! (mmm, s'mores)

Andrew / September 2, 2004 3:39 PM

I'm doing *lots* of unpacking Saturday, two picnic/BBQs on Sunday, and a "housecooling" and more unpacking on Monday. Woohoo!

Brenda / September 2, 2004 3:47 PM

Harrassing my upstairs neighbor.

Just kidding :)

Michael / September 2, 2004 4:10 PM

Maybe check out JazzFest, maybe go to the beach (for what would be the first time this summer), maybe drink some beers and play baggo and grill. That's the best part of the weekends...just winging it.

Steve / September 2, 2004 4:34 PM

Wow -- I think I first came to Gapers Block when you were asking this question about Memorial Day. Where has the time gone?

On Labor Day itself, I'm going to watch Fox News all day, and down a shot every time they say something positive about the labor movement. Meaning, of course, that I'll be stone cold sober by midnight and ready for work Tuesday morning.

miss ellen / September 2, 2004 4:36 PM

i am *so* playing some baggo this weekend (nice, michael!).

entertaining the family tomorrow at the new crib (aka, getting dad to hang some artwork). lunch at el cid on the back patio....hopefully the nephew will dig it. multiple parties saturday night.

on sunday, down to the southside for beer, brats, and baggo, of course.

on monday, enjoying the day off. no plans to speak of.

Lacey / September 2, 2004 5:05 PM

Going on a work trip! Woo!

Cinnamon / September 2, 2004 5:13 PM

On Monday I plan on walking into a restaraunt and saying to my server, "I can't believe they make you guys work on Labor Day. That must suck!" and then I'll require the server to run around the restaraunt fetching me more water, napkins, beer, etc. Since the server will be surly, I'll probably tip badly, too.

Actually my goal this year is to not go anywhere that requires me to make someone work. Unless it's my sweetie.

Lisa / September 2, 2004 6:18 PM

I have no plans, and I have to start teaching the next day, so I'll probably be sulking.

Donny Harder Jr / September 3, 2004 12:39 AM

¡Fútbol!

emily / September 3, 2004 8:54 AM

Sleep, sleep, sleep! Maybe a cookout on our deck, weather permitting. And maybe some shoe shopping.

shechemist / September 3, 2004 9:04 AM

Getting ready for my first week of full time grad school. Getting ready for my father to call me telling me he is in town. Going to a dinner for my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary.

oh yeah, and getting married.

Mike / September 3, 2004 9:28 AM

I'll probably spend my time in my boxers, eating corn chips and watching Polvision. Every once in a while, I'll get up to do the Running Man to the sound of my own beat-boxing, and then I'll just chug a few Kiwi-Strawberry wine coolers and pass out on the toilet. Nothin' big.

SJ / September 3, 2004 9:36 AM

Going to WI to host the 3rd annual Asylum Stunt Team weekend, and reminding everybody that sufficient quantities of beer do NOT mean that you can safely jump out of a moving truck or off the deck.

Also, mimosas, lasagna, bad novels, & marathon Yahtzee.

Andrew / September 3, 2004 10:46 AM

Congrats, shechemist!

Shylo / September 3, 2004 11:22 AM

There's a squirt gun battle at the fountain in Millennium Park tomorrow.

Otherwise, sleeping off a cold.

suzanne / September 3, 2004 12:44 PM

trying to figure out if new kitty is more of a lucy or oscar, learning how to teach peeps to read and write, hanging w/some friends and kitty-proofing my house!

Dilip / September 3, 2004 2:05 PM

Goin camping Fri and Sat nite and partying with everyone at the campgrounds up in WI. Something different than the normal BBQ and bar hoping this time.

Xan / September 3, 2004 2:42 PM

Will attempt kayaking with a busted foot on the Mississipp. Will mourn the loss of final two chickens Judy & Lorraine to recent raccoon siege. Will have cooking olympics and sleep it off at a drive-in theater. Will pour a 40 on a farmland curb in honor of my dead homey's 29th beeday. Will fall further smitten with my man, sigh. Will sleep deep and not labor for much. Might hoot and holler into a few silos, photograph some coyote bones.

Shasta MacNasty / September 3, 2004 3:57 PM

Saturday is my birthday BAY-BEE! Go Shasta! It's your birthday! Get busy! It's your birthday!

:::doing birthday booty dance:::

Ow. That hurt. :/

+mojan. / September 3, 2004 3:57 PM

Another wedding, another bachelorette party, more sleepless nights. Please, nobody get married for a while!

tony / September 3, 2004 4:44 PM

Going to a weeding. Er, wedding. On Sunday. Saturday I spent doing the rehearsal-type stuff and whatnot. Monday I recover.

sarah / September 5, 2004 1:02 PM

We liberal arts types don't believe in holidays. I will begin to press through my first full week of school thus far and may find myself laboring through a good bit of homework due to the fact that i labored very little this weekend.

I may also wonder when my wonderful cousin will come take me away from this place for a while.

brian / September 5, 2004 10:29 PM

Here am I on Sunday night, enjoying the timeless "You've Got Served". Amazing dialogue, a spell-blinding plot, and acting that has been unmatched by any movie I've seen recently.

Merry Labor Day, yo.

taylor / September 6, 2004 11:20 AM

Catching up on much needed sleep. Too many hours of homework. Cubs game should be a bright spot I hope.
