Wedding in Schaumburg! Not looking forward to driving there, but really happy for my friends.

Leah / September 2, 2005 12:44 PM

I am hitting the final weekend of Body Worlds on Sunday and planning on spending most of Saturday night at Moody's drinking Sangria with my neighbors.

PJ Chmiel / September 2, 2005 12:48 PM

Riding scooters with a couple hundred other weirdos during the Slaughterhouse 11 Scooter Rally. Look for us Saturday down the boulevards, into Chinatown and up north to Scooterworks.

emily / September 2, 2005 1:21 PM

the real question: what is labor day weekend going to do with ME?

jennifer / September 2, 2005 1:23 PM

Going to lovely Waterman, Illinois to eat some fresh-picked corn, swim in my parent's pool and RELAX.

Steve / September 2, 2005 1:41 PM

Gettin' my Gompers on.

robin.. / September 2, 2005 1:51 PM

guess i'd better keep it real on this here board, and run with an old favourite of mine and yours: seething with rage. i'll be seething with rage all weekend. yeah, you heard me. allllll weekend long.

but seriously, i hope to get in some bike riding, and throw a cash raising party to send a big, group donation to the red cross.

mike / September 2, 2005 2:22 PM

In order:
FRI: Walk to L. Square, Opart, Brothers Grimm
SAT: Canoeing on the river, bike ride, beer
SUN: Bike ride, Barbecue
MON: Silent nod to those who gave me the day off - - maybe a trip to Pullman would be in order.

Shasta MacNasty / September 2, 2005 3:31 PM

Going for brunch at Angelina's on Sunday to celebrate my birthday. Woo hoo! Monday--fix my computer.

Kevin / September 2, 2005 3:49 PM

May be going to Louisiana to assist w/relief efforts. Kind of touch and go right now.

Mac / September 2, 2005 3:55 PM

Like Robin up there, I'll also be riding the Rage...I'll be working. Come buy some crap, and help me keep my Body and Spirit as one.

paul / September 2, 2005 4:03 PM

I'm gonna spend the days looking for an apartment. The nights are still open for debauchery.

waleeta / September 2, 2005 4:09 PM

Moving. Any takers?

Mary Washington / September 2, 2005 8:06 PM

For real...I'm working. But it's OK I haven't worked in a week! I'm soooooo poor, but so well rested.

dave carr / September 2, 2005 9:55 PM

I am going to sit on my front porch on what are to be sunny but not hot days; I will smoke a fine cigar and read a fine book and listen to French Canadian folk music that has a joy and spirit to it that can hardly be duplicated except perhaps in some forms of bluegrass and cajun.

I will drive 35 miles to a small bakery Saturday morning that will result in jelly doughnuts for my wife of a type unparalleled in modern society; sausage rolls for both of us and perhaps a loaf of fresh bread.

other than that foray, the front porch, and some head scratches for the two cats, are all that await me.

Happy Labor Day (or Labour Day, as the case may be.

By the way, I was born in Oak Park, IL, live in Ontario Canada on Georgian Bay and have visited showmen's rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.

as have you.

I'm watching Chicago's own Kanye West speak the truth on NBC.

Cathy / September 3, 2005 12:18 PM

Shopping for a wedding next week, not really lookin' forward to it either, but I love shopping - any excuse for a new dress! I think I just made myself sound shallow...ce la vie

steven / September 3, 2005 12:26 PM

In no particular order...

- entertain some friends from out of town
- bike ride up the lakefront
- have a few drinks
- relax
- think about the asshole who stole my debit card info and is using it for his own personal spending spree...i will find you
- have a few more drinks
- send thoughts and prayers to NOLA
- appreciate the fact that I have 3 days off (!!!)

mike-ts / September 3, 2005 5:57 PM

Why, the The Daniel Burnham Birthday Ride and Celebration, of course! A ten mile casual ride, with birthday cake on the lakefront. On a crystal clear, eighty degree day. My dreams don't get that good.

Hopefully, my pants won't rip up the front before the ride like they did before the Chicago Lakefront Vision Ride in the beginning of June, causing me to forefit on the fun.

Since no one I know is cooking out, I guess I have to finish my exterior painting on Labor Day. Day for labor, right?

HuckleCat / September 4, 2005 11:18 AM

Anheuser-Busch tour, Laumeier sculpture park, Forest Park, and Ted Drewes frozen custard!

Alex / September 4, 2005 9:57 PM

Paint my kitchen. Wanna help?

Don Hall / September 4, 2005 11:36 PM

Grilled with app. 25 people on Sunday; going to the Bodyworks exhibit at 3AM Monday morning; catching "The 40 Year Old Virgin" Monday afternoon.

Yay for LABOR!

unmake / September 5, 2005 1:26 PM

Listening to audiobooks (finished an entire 12hr one yesterday) and painting.

Moon / September 5, 2005 2:28 PM

seething with rage. i'll be seething with rage all weekend. yeah, you heard me. allllll weekend long.

You have to have a GOAL, though!

I'll be seething with rage AT THE MAN!

/generic seething with rage is sooooo 1917, man.

Andy / September 5, 2005 8:23 PM

Having a fight with my pseudo girlfriend which will remind me just how much I hate Labor Day weekend.
