Is it more or less ridiculous than "buffalopox"?
Thank goodness we've got something else to worry about this summer, other than the usual scares of the West Nile virus and Japanese beetles!
Stuck in my head for the last few days: The song "David Watts" with all instances of the title replaced by "monkey pox."
Wish I could be like monkey pox, wish I could be like monkey pox...
how the conversation went with a five year old.
he: so, like, do you turn into a monkey?
me: no, you don't turn into a monkey.
he: do you get it from a monkey?
me: no, you don't get it from a monkey, you get it from a prairie dog.
he: *blink-blink*
me: i know. it's confusing.
he: how did the prairie dog get it from the monkey? did they share a cup?
me: *blink-blink*
he: because that's how you get sick. you're not supposed to share cups. didn't their mommies tell them not to share cups?
sr,
That sums it up perfectly.
We should all be wearing gas masks. Yes!
It's like something out of a "Seinfeld" episode, right down to Phil's Pocket Pets.

You know, I might be more worried about it if it didn't have such a ridiculous name.
