I'm still on the edge of my seat as I wait for the Digital TV riots to erupt in three weeks.
Move my entire 403(b) from the S&P 500 into lottery tickets (less risk).
printdude, you may have to wait longer. Congress will vote today whether or not to delay the switch to digital until June.
What's next for me is B-Fest this weekend. Woo!
I'm moving to Iowa.
Then traveling Europe in the fall.
More immediately, I am drinking beer tomorrow at rock bottom. Yummy.
Job interview in one hour. Wish me luck.
Spring! Birds in the morning, more sunlight, warmer. But still, the Great Snowstorm that always comes around March is yet to come. Then, baseball on the radio!
Lunch. Work. Phone call with Jen & Diana of Disgrasian™ to discuss web site redesign. Home. Dinner. Top Chef. Sleep.
Call these references for the interview I just did (no, not you, Paul), then, burrito! Yes, I mean to use "burrito" as a verb.
Over lunch, I am going to read and think about who I'm going to vote for in the upcoming special election:
Forum this Sunday at DePaul!
LOST tonight...bowling tomorrow...waiting for my tax return (yes, they've already been submitted)
Try to figure out what I'm doing in my new position at work, I'm freaking out. I'm also totally clueless and have no idea why they gave this position to me. Other than that, seeing The Reader this week should bring me up to speed on all the nominated films this year.
annie - Wow! I am going through the same freakout about a new job for which I'm not qualified. I think they gave me the job because I cost less than a person who really is qualified, so I do know the reason (unlike you), but the freakout work stress is horrible, isn't it? We're fortunate to have jobs in this economy, I know, but to have a job in which you feel lost is hard (can't wait for Lost tonight though!). Hang in there annie! I'm right there with you!
London, forever. CYA USA!
grow a beard.
Class Warfare...
Nothing good, that's for sure.
A small bag of Ruffles sour cream & onion, and then moving on.
@ Marge -
I know I make $40K less than the person they laid off who had this job, but I don't know why they picked me to replace her. That being said, I find that admitting to everyone you meet with that you are clueless has (and be very cordial, even funny and laugh alot at the same time) been working in my favor. Today I met with two people who are willing to show me the ropes a bit and have provided me access to their library of pretty much everything I need to know. Good luck to both of us and right on - we are very lucky to be working at all!
drive an hour to Savannah, GA and investigate, take pictures, drink a beer. Fly back home on Friday and give Mr. M a big hug. Return to boring life, work, read, save money and return to Chicago in the fall. or not. I don't know what's next, which is pretty exciting. meow.
Continue the slow, unglamorous slog of paying off debt. Wait to see where my long-distance professor boyfriend does or doesn't get a job for the fall.
Keep marketing my freelance business, stringing together enough gigs to make a decent living.
In the meantime, keep a sense of humor and enjoy the little silly shit.
Today: Trudge through the end of work then hit a new gym - followed promptly by salad, chili and wine. I'm livin the hight life.
Near furture:
World Kitchen class 3/7
Bronx Tale 3/22
Death Cab 4/17
Keep paying off debt, spend less - I have a second job for a reason. Stop blowing it on silly shit so I can QUIT IT next year! (Or just go from two weekend nights to Friday only)
Go to Ireland in November
Possibly have my boyfriend move in shortly after that !!!
Future: Be mostly debt free, marry my sweetie, move to Ireland by 2015
Give speech, wait for applause.
If no applause, quietly leave podium.
Find someone to give me a ride home.
Highlight a few more poetry lines with yellow marker, wait to see if new NYC contacts have anything for me.
Go grocery shopping, deal with AT&T, unpack, do laundry, call my dude, mop my floors, readjust my internal clock, sort through the ginormous pile of mail on my desk at home, figure out who I'm hanging out with on Sunday.
I just finished choking on a small bagel piece. That was fun. Now, I resume eating the bagel.
Next, I get to dig through 100+ emails that keep coming in.
Tonight, something good for dinner, some TV, wine and relaxation.
(Carrie, I'm glad you are OK.)
Being healthier inside and out. Saving $ for used car. Making financial priorities and long range goals.
Governor Quinn, apparently.
Prepare for plenty of "Mighty Quinn" jokes.
Continue work on my new website which consists of my Chicago Prints from the last 30 years.
