A Leg Lamp!

Jasmine / December 25, 2007 7:36 PM

Nothing. Though to be fair I haven't given anything (yet -- presents to family are being mailed late).

Jeremy / December 25, 2007 8:44 PM

Super Mario Galaxy, The "Final Cut" of Blade Runner, a new wallet, and socks.

Leelah / December 25, 2007 10:00 PM

An iPod Nano... that doesn't work with my OSX 10.3.9 operating system. Grr.

adam / December 25, 2007 10:50 PM

OK, also "The Simpsons Movie" and way too much candy from my brother-in-law. And I got myself a vintage baritone ukulele that we'll call a present, since it arrived a few days ago.

Arlo Guthrie / December 26, 2007 6:50 AM

I didn't get anything...I had to pay 50 dollars and pick up all the garbage.

leah / December 26, 2007 10:10 AM

Tickets to Mexico over my birthday in April. Even though this year was a no presents year. Some people don't play by the rules!

skafiend / December 26, 2007 11:50 AM

Lots of aggravation and bank account in the red.

Good times, good times....

Spook / December 26, 2007 12:46 PM

Paints, four hand knotted kilims from Iran, a cigar humidor, cigars( I smoke about one every two weeks) , pants, sweater, books and booze. Of course most of these were gifts to myself which will include that Sony lap top in mid january when prices are at their lowest.
Its not the trendy name, but the fact that if it breaks you can just take it to the sony store and let them deal with it. Did I mention booze?

Matt / December 26, 2007 1:01 PM

A digital camera and a tie clip, which both finally brings me into the 21st Century while also sending me further into the 19th.

kp / December 26, 2007 1:16 PM

lady cramps....argh.

kelly / December 26, 2007 4:35 PM

Mindy / December 26, 2007 5:20 PM

a 10 piece stainless steel cookware set by cuisinart (calphalon was out of santa's budget), waterproof pants, sunglasses with 4 sets of interchangeable lenses and "The Action Heroine's Handbook" among other things.

JD / December 26, 2007 5:48 PM

A new computer chair.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
AND
A greater hatred for the "holidays".

Eamon / December 26, 2007 7:47 PM

I can't believe how generous my brother-in-law and his wife were: they bought me a copy of Burnham and Bennett's Plan of Chicago! It's awesome.

billy / December 26, 2007 7:58 PM

you know, nothing. I boycotted giving and receiving gifts this year and once my family got over the perceived "insanity" of it, it's been the best christmas ever.

annie / December 27, 2007 10:19 AM

The b.f. (husband in 2 weeks from today) gave me a cool silver ring from the one of a kind show, a calendar and a few fun t's from threadless. His dad gave me this beautiful antique emerald ring that belonged to his mom, who is no longer with us, it is one of the nicest gifts I've ever received.
I didn't get the new foot or pupply that I wished for, but there's always next year!!

spence / December 27, 2007 10:32 AM

A 3-season, 3-person tent from my girlfriend. Can't wait to get some use out of it this Spring, Summer and Fall.

David / December 27, 2007 11:26 AM

Expensive batteries. Someone needs to figure out how to give rechargeable batteries longer lives.

boomer / December 27, 2007 11:59 AM

The Simpsons game for the (self-gift) Wii.

And the Berghoff Cookbook.

Mmmm....Schnitzel

Veronica / December 27, 2007 12:18 PM

From the bros, gift cards with which I can purchase a sewing machine. From the 'rents, all sorts of sewing tools and notions and patterns to use when I purchase my sewing machine. It's good when you can tell people exactly what you want (and go to the store with them and pick it out). Also, special from my mother, "no taste" red food coloring, so if I feel inspired to make GB cookies again they don't have to taste like red.

Mucky Fingers / December 27, 2007 12:32 PM

Just as I predicted, it was another year of receiving clothes I'll never wear, movies I'll never watch, music I'll never enjoy, and books I'll never read.

Again, to the women of Gapers Block, if you're lucky enough to find that one true lobe, don't try and change him.

M.F. / December 27, 2007 12:33 PM

...er, I meant "love".

Spook / December 27, 2007 12:46 PM

Allan son, what up! Represent! What did you get? How was your Christmas yo? Did you get a Ghostface Killah?

a / December 27, 2007 12:51 PM

Mucky Fingers-
you kinda sound like a brat. Or a puss. If you have so much disdain for the one "true" love trying to change you through christmas gifts, then you should cut her loose.

me- i got a shiny new caribbean blue le creuset cast iron skillet. and new colors of fiestaware. yay!

Spook / December 27, 2007 12:53 PM

p.s

M.F.,

"True Lobe" sounds better, so leave it be :-)

p.p.s

are you any relation to M.F. Doom? Cause If that's you, I love your stuff son!

zoenotcool / December 27, 2007 2:24 PM

chocolate, fluffy things, gift cards, stuff to watch/smell/burn. waaay too many organic items which i may or may not eat and/or use.

fluffy / December 27, 2007 3:37 PM

I also got a pelican mask and a cardboard mirror.

brownpants / December 28, 2007 8:58 AM

well, it was leaked by a sibling that i was going to receive a new stereo system to replace the computer speakers i had been using, so a few days before i went and bought myself a new turntable/preamp. not bad at all.

jen / December 28, 2007 9:16 AM
