No.

But it is pretty. At least two days ago. I wanted to lie down and sleep in it. It was so damn fluffy.

Andrew / January 26, 2004 11:06 AM

Driving in isn't fun, but it is kind of nice to have something on the ground. It's pretty damn drab around here without the winter wonderland feel.

A lex, x, x / January 26, 2004 11:09 AM

Yeah, I'll be happy until it turns into mounds of black ice and yellow mush...

Naz / January 26, 2004 11:11 AM

Yellow mush...that reminds me. I hate seeing dog pee and poop in snow, especially when it ices over, preserved there in the ice. Ice Poopsicle anyone?

miss ellen / January 26, 2004 11:14 AM

it's monday. it's snowing? gee, might be nice to get out of my cubicle for a day or so....

shechemist / January 26, 2004 11:17 AM

YES! I love love love it.

jennifer / January 26, 2004 11:52 AM

I'm happy about it, and will be so until it probably fucks up my flight to NYC on Thursday. Saturday was beautiful--it was so soft and powdery, like confectioner's sugar. I loved walking around in it.

Cinnamon / January 26, 2004 12:20 PM

NO! The ugly black snow means that our brand new car already has dirty mats.

jenny / January 26, 2004 12:44 PM

It's pretty. I want to go hang out in a park...I love the quiet in the morning with the snow on the ground...

Brenda / January 26, 2004 1:30 PM

much better than ice, for walking on sidewalks

Benjy / January 26, 2004 2:06 PM

This snow crap sucks! I hate having to walk in it. I hate having to drive in it. It may look pretty for the first couple of hours but then it's nothing but a pain in the ass.

Onid / January 26, 2004 2:10 PM

What I hate about the dog-poopsicles is coming across them in the spring. It's like the dog said "Sure Onid isn't going to step here in January but come April I'll get him. You better believe I will. [insert evil laugh here.]

Or maybe I'm just paranoid?

Pete / January 26, 2004 2:35 PM

I like it, except for every time I have to cross a street through the brown slop, in the shoes I vowed to replace three months ago.

Benjamin / January 26, 2004 3:02 PM

It's great to have some snow finally…even though my girlfriend somehow slyly appointed me as 'designated shoveler'. She even purchased for me a "plow-style" push shovel, so there's no lifting involved. Lotsa perks in my new position I tell ya.

suzanne / January 26, 2004 3:40 PM

the snow is great but summer would be better!

A lex, x, x / January 26, 2004 4:35 PM

Cinnamon, do like my mother and make people take off their shoes before entering....of course, she did that with our home.

So, um, a car might be difficult.

lacey / January 26, 2004 4:53 PM

I love the snow. Bring it on. We need to reassess the bitter wind though, I think.

bran / January 26, 2004 9:14 PM

Snow is not my friend. But I can accept it as the price I have to pay for living in the beautiful Midwest. Or something like that.

LD / January 26, 2004 10:51 PM

No more $10 car washes in this weather. But yeah, I get a little happy when I see snow. I get even extra happy when I pull into my newly rented garage (after being a street parker for 10 years).

Kenan / January 26, 2004 11:41 PM

This snow is pussy. Pussy wussy little wimpy girly snow. Is that all you got, bitch?

Ruthie / January 27, 2004 1:38 AM

I like the snow, but this vicious warm/cold, melty/freezy, slushy/icy cycle is really starting to get to me. As long as the snow doesn't melt and refreeze into sheet ice and then get snowed on some more to make concealed sheet ice, I'm happy.

armaghetto / January 27, 2004 6:10 AM

I like that it makes the city look different, but I'm not thrilled about scraping, shoveling, and driving in it.

And after reading Kenan's comment, I suddenly have the urge to strip nekkid and bury myself in it.

Carly / January 27, 2004 9:03 AM

I have a love hate relationship with snow.

On the one hand, it is beautiful, especially when it gets dark and it's really quiet. I like standing in it when it first starts.

But then just like someone mentioned above, a few hours later, after people have trudged through it and cars have driven over it, it turns into that mucky, gray/black sludge that I DESPISE. It's all over my car, the back of my pants and my new shoes.

However, I may love it once again...I'm planning a snowball fight/play in the snow outing on Thursday night...details to follow...All should come out and enjoy it!

Eamon / January 27, 2004 9:30 AM

If you don't like snow, why are you here? Miami is two easy days of driving away. San Diego is three.

Winter is the reason to live in Chicago. Continued whining will be answered with snowballs and whitewashes.

Jake / January 27, 2004 9:49 AM

The snow is pretty. But my poor little dogs' chests are only two inches off the ground. I have to trample a path for them to pee in. I wonder if anybody makes wiener dog stilts... Or snowshoes?

Alice / January 27, 2004 10:27 AM

Whitewashes. Awesome. I don't think I've heard that term since junior high. We had some wicked snowfights when we were kids -- good times, good times. Thanks for the memories, Eamon.

jenny / January 27, 2004 10:36 AM

What I said about liking the snow? I take it back. It took me 20 minutes to shovel out and scrape down the car this morning.
