Plus the Hawks are going to be on TV.

Supercolliding with all of this upside down sportsisms, is the Presidential race where we wil either have a female vice president or a black president.

And the Tampa Bay Rays have de-throned the yankeess.

And they are tearing down The House That Ruth Built.

Please forward all my mail to the hole in the groun I plan on moving to.

The way the Cubs are playing, looks like we won't have to worry about it much longer.

(Swing by Tailgate, our sports section, for more doom and woe.)

Boy, some people have short memories!
Remember waaaaaaaaaay back in '05?
The begining of Sept and the Wheels were coming off of the White Sox Bus and Ozzie was throwing people in front of said bus?
I remember because I went around giving Sox Fans the gift of White Sox Kleenex, which, after crying in their beers while on the ledge, they used to wipe tears of joy from their faces.
Do ya remember that?

BTW, Satellite reception sucks in my bunker. Looks like I'm gonna hafta go cable.

It's Chicago people, don't get excited, they'll start to crumble soon.

Gaigen / September 10, 2008 1:42 PM

Well, it's never happened this late in the season, so I expect to see at least locusts taking over Michigan ave.

But when the Cubs stumbling and the Sox crumbling, it looks like the universe is righting itself.

Steven / September 10, 2008 8:49 PM

Palin as possibly President... a $500 billion U.S. deficit... an Arctic Ocean free of summer ice... uh, somehow I don't think Chicago sports qualify as being apocalyptic.

Carlotta / September 10, 2008 9:26 PM

Well, if we have a Cubs-Sox World Series it'll certainly be Armageddon!

"It's Chicago people, don't get excited, they'll start to crumble soon."

Annie said it. Come on people.

greg / September 11, 2008 12:22 AM

If it's cubs-sox in the WS this town will tear itself to shreds.

Carrie / September 11, 2008 5:07 PM

Sorry, not interested in professional sports.

Millions to pay people to catch a ball, while our teachers have to live on scraps.

Sorry, not for me.
