Tuesday, October 15
It goes off at 7:30. I ignore it/hit snooze button until 8:30.
Heh, forgot to answer the question. :)
Ours starts going off at 8am, and I get out of bed around 8:30. Ah, the joys of self-employment.
6:30, then 6:39, then 6:48, then 6:57, then 7:06, then 7:15, then sometimes 7:24 and 7:33.
5:45 brings me the radio.
6:00 gives me Beep-Beep-Beep.
I leave the house at 6:50.
My dog has learned how to sleep through all this.
I am jealous.
Wednesdays I work from home, so 8:30. All the other weekdays, 7:20 and I leave the house at ten past eight.
7:30, hit snooze until 8:00. Out the door at 9:30.
Mich... I'm the same...
5:15... 5:23...5:31...
then I reset for 6:30
This is my attempt to 'get up early and make myself a good breakfast and listen to the news.
7, 7:10, 7:20, 7:30. Sometimes every ten minutes until 8. And radio.
740--mine
745--boyfriend's
749--mine
754--boyfriend's
756, I'm awake enough to roll out of bed and shut mine of for the day...
6:00 - cell phone
6:10 - alarm clock
depending on what I need to get done before my first class shows up, I may or may not indulge in a snooze.
Cell phone: 5:50.
Alarm clock: 5:55.
Always have a backup.
I normally snooze til about 6:10.
My alarm has 2 settings. First goes off at 7:31am. I turn that off completely. Second goes off at 8:01am, which I then snooze until 8:31 or 8:46am. There's 15 minutes between snoozes, though. If we're cat sitting, though, the cat will come punch me in the face to get up if I don't turn the alarm off soon enough.
7:00am
7:15am
7:30am
man, yall making me feel good cause:A, so many of yall are forced up earlier than me,( not a morning person!)
B, so many of yall are are more ridiculous
than me, thinking that those extra minutes actually do any thing more than cause more chaos. As opposed to just
getting up the first time, getting dressed and then being able to relax for half hour before dealing that beast called CTA!
Tomorrow, like a firemen, I'm getting up on the first alarm!
6:50; 6:59; 7:08; 7:17 (occasionally 7:26....) -- turn off the alarm/put self in the shower. leave the house 8-ish.
No alarm unless I need to get up to buy tickets. Luckily my boss doesn't like to work in the mornings! I usually go to work around noon.
Before layoff: 6:30 (didn't get up for a while past that, though, listening to radio)
Now: when I want to/in time for an appt.
6:15 gets radio, then possible snooze, (if I'm bad, a 2nd snooze) then absolutely up. Do some cleaning up (can't seem to wash dishes at night) before I leave the house around 7:45/8am.
About 6:30-ish. Though lately I've been hitting the snooze until about 7:30-ish.
My fat kitten is not pleased with this - as soon as she hears the alarm, she's right next to my face, 'cause it's breakfast. I roll over, and she's next to my face again. I roll over again - BAM, she's next to my face. Lather, rinse, repeat.
It is the most extraordinary passive-aggressive relationship I have ever had in my life.
I have a three alarm system. First alarm goes off at 11:00 a.m. That would be Hot Stuff by Donna Summer followed by the rest of the Bad Girls album, all 70 minutes of it. Second alarm goes at 11:30 a.m. That's the most annoying ring I could find on my cell phone and it lets me know that I need to stop humming toot toot, heeeeey beep beep and get out of bed. Third alarm goes off at 2:30 p.m. That would be Party Out of Bounds by the B-52's. Fred Schneider screaming "Surpri-ise!" lets me know I got 30 minutes to find my shoes, money, wallet, keys and cell phone before I need to run out the door screaming to catch CTA at 3: p.m.
I'll be so glad when I get a new car next month. Then my days can proceed more calmly.
It doesn't -- my internal alarm goes off as soon as the sun hits my windowsill.
I know, I'm a freak!
Steven wins... "Hot Stuff" as an alarm???
But also...You don't have to be to work until 3 p.m. and you need THREE alarms to do it? Really? What time to you get to bed?
As for me, I have begun naturally waking up at 5 a.m., almost on the dot. That give me an hour and a half of lying in bed, drowsily watching/listening to the news. I'd rather ease into the morning than have to bolt upright and hit the ground running.
generally, the alarm goes off at about 6:30 at which point i make myself cereal and eat it in bed and watch tv/check email (and woot.com) until about 7:00. i'm out the door most days by 7:20 (work by 8:00).
this week i've been dogsitting in evanston, so i've woken up at 6:00, taken care of the dogs immediately and left by 6:45. kinda harsh.
I was laid off in February so my recurrent alarm is off:)
The radio alarm goes off at 6:40, but I normally just turn that off and go back to sleep. (Side note: for the past two days I've woken up to Katy Perry's "Hot and Cold." This is NOT a good way to wake up.) The second alarm (annoying beep) goes off at 7. I have to be in the shower by 7:10 in order to be out the door by 8:10 to make it to work at 8:45.
7:30 and with the song Oversleeping by I'm from Barcelona
4:40. Yes, a.m.
No, I need to be at work at 4 p.m. and yes, I do need three alarms to do it. Try as I might to get to bed by 3 a.m. it's just not always humanly possible. Usually get to bed by 4:30 a.m. I need the 2:30 p.m. alarm just in case I am cat-napping on the Barcelona daybed with the doggies.
I'll be so glad to get that car and kiss CTA goodbye forever. It'll give me an extra 40 minutes a day quality time. I'll be able to do a facial EVERY day instead of every third day.
Alarm goes off at 5:30am but I snooze until 6.
Oh please people the life of luxury you all seem to live in. Why not try 4:05 am. Thats right. And as to poor Steven and his inability to get to bed by 3 am, thats not that far off from the last time the young one gets up and want his bottle. Oh for the good old days of getting up after 6 am or the years of working that night shift. Now all of you have a great nights and early morning sleep. As for me I'll be enjoying a nice three day weekend.;)
Boy, somebody woke up cranky. ;)
Oh my god even on my off day I can't help myself. I'm awake with the internal clock going off. This sucks.
5:58am. Need to be out the door at 6:25am. Ah, the joys of having to get up at the crack of dawn due to an excessively long commute.
My clock is 10 minutes fast...and I set it for 5:48 when I say I want to get up and exercise (which after 30 years hasn't happened yet)...6:10 when I want a little extra time (again, never happens) and 6:40 which is when I get up for real and am out of the house at 7am.
Sousboy, I used to get up at 330am to be at work by 430 am. I worked at a coffee shop, which would've been great, had I drank coffee at the time. I remember those days well and I feel your pain.
8:00, but my alarm is set 48 minutes ahead. Maybe it's sad that I have to lie to myself to get up in the morning, but hey.
5:59 a.m. on workdays so I can awake to the 6 a.m. newscast on WBBM780. The alarm does not go off on non-work days.
The first alarm goes off at 7:50am. Then the second at 8:10am. Then I'm usually up with the morning commute to the kitchen to put on the coffee, the bottleneck near the bathroom, then into the office to put on Larry & Robin (WGN Morning News) and getting ready to start working by 9-ish. Yes, self-employment has its perks.
6:01.
9 minute snoozes until 6:28 or 6:55 depending on how early a morning it has to be.
If I'm driving to the gym - 6:00 a.m.
If I'm taking CTA to work (no gym)-7:00
If I'm driving to work (no gym)-7:15
Wake up to WBEZ and I never, ever hit snooze. I have had to break 3 boyfriends from the snoozing habit - I will not stand to be woken up over and over again. I love you honey, but watch me kick you out of this bed so fast.
