The carpet in our basement has the texture of tres leches cake. That CAN'T be good.
No problemo, even though I live in a basement appartment.
Actually, it's nice to have an "enforced" period of inactivity. I'm not (and apparently others aren't) out & about for either tasks or entertainment. The downpours totally washed out the Lakeview Art Festival, though.
Too bad the rain didn't wash out the Q101 block party. My house is half a block away, and it's making me crazy, so it's brave the rain or wear earplugs.
Other than that, the record rainfall is making me sleep record hours, like 12 hours without even stirring.
Having someone to snuggle up with sure helps.
The four week drought was killing a weather-based business of mine, so I prayed for rain.
Yup, it's me. I did it.
Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. But at least I know now Who I have major pull with.
The rain is making me and everyone I know sleepy heads. I went to sleep at 8, am up now on the internets for a bit, checking road closures, then back to bed. I don't know how Seattle people do it (deal with steady rain) for like 300 days of the year.
nothing the entire second season of Arrested Development can't fix.
we were at a friend's cottage in Indiana, not much to do in Indiana when it's raining so we went to the outlet mall then played games and drank. Now I'm exhausted.
I wouldn't have minded so much if it hadn't been the weekend for both the Renegade Art Fair and the Celtic Fest. I did it to Renegade for an hour yesterday when the rain let up, but it was still cold and several vendors had (understandably) packed up and left already.
Make it. I did make it. Duh.
Friday night I was able to get caught up with my laundry and not feel like I was missing any fun anywhere. Saturday I didn't feel guilty about napping for a couple of hours. I did make it out for a bit that night, but it was kind of quiet out, so the BF and I went home to play MarioKart. Yesterday, I braved a movie I vowed I'd never watch (turns out I don't hate it) and then once the rain let up, we went to Renegade. Basically, I'm holding up just fine. Hopefully the basement at my other place didn't flood.
I love it. I love the smell and feel of rain. I watched some movies, ventured out when I had to and splashed in a few puddles just for fun.
It's incredibly romantic.
I have some friends visiting from Ireland so they were a bit disappointed to leave the record rainfall of Ireland to come to a very soggy Chicago.
My abode is fine.
I have a case of the sniffles and perma-frown. I work outside. I ride my bike all day, every day. Need waterproof bubble plz.
6 mile run Saturday morning. Best run I have had in a few weeks.
Nice
I feel for the peoples in Albany Park and other flooded spots.I had a tenant with a little drip in her ceiling but nothing major.
Left bedroom window open when I went to bar to watch the Bears games. Carpeted floor. Oops.
Actually watched whole Bears game. Oops again.
Better now that the power's back -- huzzah!!
Now to face what's left in the fridge...
On the 7th floor overlooking Lake Hollywood Beach. No kidding, there's a lake in the middle of Hollywood Beach. Birds love it so my dog is happy.
